Mechanical Technician
Description
Assist in the installation of cable trays, conduits, and support systems as per project specifications and layout plans. Support electricians in pulling, routing, and securing electrical cables and wires through cable trays and conduits. Clean and prepare work areas by removing debris and hazardous materials. Handle and organize electrical tools, materials, and equipment on-site. Perform basic tasks such as measuring, cutting, and bending conduit and trays. Ensure the proper use and care of personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with all safety standards and guidelines. Assist in troubleshooting and identifying issues related to electrical systems and tray installations. Load and unload materials and tools at construction sites as needed. Help with securing cable tray covers and maintaining organized systems for cable management. Follow instructions from supervisors and work closely with the team to complete tasks on time. Qualifications Minimum of 1-2 years in a similar role, preferably in oil and gas construction projects. Basic understanding of electrical systems, tools, and materials; familiarity with cable tray installation. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lifting heavy materials, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces. Knowledge of safety protocols and the ability to follow instructions to ensure a safe work environment. Ability to work collaboratively with electricians, supervisors, and other crew members.
