Course Counselor Job Description We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Course Counselor. In this role, you will have the opportunity to assist students in making informed decisions about their academic careers and guide them towards accomplishing their educational goals. As a Course Counselor, you will be responsible for providing academic advice, helping students develop a course plan, and ensuring that they have a clear understanding of the requirements needed to complete their degree program successfully. Provide academic counseling and support to students, helping them develop an individualized course plan based on their interests, goals, and degree requirements. Assist students in navigating course selection, understanding prerequisites, and ensuring that they meet the necessary requirements for their desired field of study. Conduct regular check-ins with students to evaluate their progress, offer guidance, and address any academic concerns or challenges they may be facing. Collaborate with faculty and departmental advisors to stay updated on curriculum changes, new course offerings, and degree program requirements. Maintain accurate and updated student records, ensuring that all academic advising interactions are properly documented. Stay informed about university policies, procedures, and resources, and effectively communicate this information to students. Attend professional development workshops and conferences to enhance counseling skills and stay abreast of current trends in academic advising.
