Description

Purpose and Scope: Install, repair, rebuild, and service mechanical or electrical locking devices on a USAF installation in accordance with contract requirements. Essential Responsibilities: Provide 24/7 locksmith services. Install, maintain, and repair all assigned doors, locks, and windows as per contract requirements. Work with Keystone or current software. Inspect, repair, and certify GSA containers and vaults. Inspect and repair high-security locks such as LKM7000, KABA Mas X-09/X-10. Disassemble locks like padlocks, safe locks, and door locks; repair or replace worn parts. Change lock combinations by inserting new or repaired tumblers. Cut new or duplicate keys. Open door locks without keys using lock-pick cylinders. Open safe locks by drilling when necessary. Maintain records of locks and keys issued. Complete projects from initial layout to final installation, including basic structural work. Repair door screens and replace or repair window locks and operators. Provide new or duplicate keys, open safe locks without keys, and recordkeeping. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Adaptability to changing and fast-paced environments. Strong interpersonal skills with a customer-focused approach. Ability to understand written and oral instructions. Effective communication skills, both oral and written. Experience working with government or military personnel. Ability to generate reports as required. Attention to detail in working with management, co-workers, and customers. Proficiency with MS Office applications for reports and correspondence. Ability to work with computers and software as required. Ability to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization (U.S. Citizenship required). Experience and Education: At least 3 years of related locksmith experience or equivalent training. Registered Locksmith with sufficient expertise. GSA Certified Locksmith (Do D Lock Program/GSA Safe & Vault Training). High School diploma or equivalent, with computer training. Valid state driver license and qualification to operate government vehicles. Preferred Qualifications: Military experience. Facilities, project, inventory management, and operations experience. Experience with Keystone software. Associate degree or higher is a plus. Work Environment and Physical Demands: Tasks may require lifting, bending, or stooping. Conditions could be remote and uncomfortable. Must work well with others, including government personnel.
