Posted on 03/04/2025 We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Systems Engineer with expertise in Windows Server, Microsoft Exchange, VMware virtualization, and Citrix technologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's IT infrastructure, ensuring system availability, performance, and security. The Systems Engineer will work with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable IT services, support critical business applications, and provide ongoing system support and troubleshooting. The successful candidate will leverage their deep technical expertise in systems administration to manage enterprise-level environments, deploy new solutions, and resolve complex technical issues related to servers, virtualization, and collaboration platforms. Key Responsibilities: System Design, Implementation & Management: Design, deploy, and maintain Windows Server environments (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, etc.) ensuring the servers are running efficiently and securely. Manage and support Microsoft Exchange Server for email communication, ensuring the availability, security, and performance of the email platform. Administer and optimize VMware v Sphere environments (v Center, ESXi) to ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and resource optimization for virtualized workloads. Implement and manage Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops for remote access solutions, providing a seamless experience for end-users. Ensure that all systems are properly patched, updated, and compliant with organizational policies and industry standards. System Administration & Monitoring: Administer and support Windows Server operating systems (2008-2019), ensuring optimal performance, security, and uptime. Perform daily monitoring of system health using tools such as VMware v Realize Operations, Solar Winds, or OPS Manager to identify and address any potential issues before they affect end-users. Configure, manage, and maintain Citrix Xen App/Xen Desktop environments to deliver virtual applications and desktops to end-users. Manage backup and disaster recovery operations for Windows and Exchange systems using technologies such as Veeam, Comm Vault, or Windows Server Backup. Performance Optimization & Troubleshooting: Perform performance tuning and optimization for Windows Server, VMware, Citrix, and Exchange environments. Diagnose and resolve complex system issues, including server crashes, application errors, and virtual machine failures. Troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues affecting the performance of virtualized servers and applications. Utilize Power Shell scripting for automation and system administration tasks across Windows Server and Exchange environments. Collaborate with other IT teams and departments to support system integrations and deployments, ensuring proper functionality and support. Provide second and third-level support for Windows Server, Exchange, VMware, and Citrix environments, ensuring minimal disruption to end-users. Document system configurations, troubleshooting steps, and maintenance procedures to ensure continuity and ease of support for team members. Maintain detailed logs for incidents, problems, and changes for audits and reporting. Security & Compliance Management: Ensure Windows Server and Exchange environments are secured, implementing necessary security patches, and adhering to security best practices. Manage Exchange Server security (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), firewall configurations, and VPN solutions for secure email communication. Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity: Design and implement disaster recovery strategies for Windows Servers and VMware environments, ensuring critical applications and data can be restored quickly. Perform failover and backup testing regularly to ensure business continuity for all systems and applications, including email, virtual machines, and remote access platforms. Requirements Professional Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in systems administration, with hands-on experience in Windows Server, Exchange, VMware, and Citrix environments. Proven experience with virtualization technologies (VMware v Sphere, ESXi, v Center) and management of virtualized environments. Experience managing and troubleshooting Microsoft Exchange Server environments. Hands-on experience with Citrix Xen App/Xen Desktop and Citrix Net Scaler or Citrix Cloud solutions. Skills: Strong knowledge of Windows Server 2008-2019, Active Directory, Group Policy, and Power Shell scripting for automation. Expertise in VMware v Sphere architecture, including v Center, ESXi hosts, and v Motion. Experience in managing and securing Exchange Server, including Exchange 2016/2019 and cloud-based solutions like Office 365. Proficient in administering and supporting Citrix virtual environments, including Xen App, Xen Desktop, and Citrix-related technologies. Familiarity with backup solutions (e.g., Veeam, Comm Vault), disaster recovery practices, and high availability configurations. Strong troubleshooting skills for server and application performance issues. Familiar with firewall and network security concepts, particularly in the context of Exchange and remote access solutions. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Azure or AWS cloud infrastructure and integration with Windows Server, Exchange, VMware, and Citrix environments. Experience with Linux and Unix operating systems. Knowledge of SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager) for software deployment and system management. Familiarity with ITIL best practices for incident, problem, and change management processes. Experience with Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS) and Azure AD integration. Working Conditions: Full-time position with occasional on-call or after-hours support as required. Some local travel may be required depending on the nature of the role. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Certifications: Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) in Windows Server. VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP) for virtualization technologies. Citrix Certified Associate – Virtualization (CCA-V) or Citrix Certified Professional – Virtualization (CCP-V) for Citrix-related technologies.
