Senior General Insurance Officer - Group Experience Job Title: Senior General Insurance Officer Department: Risk & Insurance Management Reports To: Group Insurance Manager-Chief Risk Officer Location: United Arab Emirates - Dubai Employment Type: Full-Time Job Purpose: The Senior General Insurance Officer will manage and optimize the full spectrum of insurance activities for a diversified group of companies. This includes general, motor, hull & marine, medical, and personal property insurance for top management. The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with hands-on experience in both client and broker environments, underwriting, policy review, risk assessment, and negotiation. This role plays a critical part in protecting company assets, managing exposure, and ensuring cost-effective coverage across the group. Key Responsibilities: Oversee and manage the group’s complete insurance portfolio, including but not limited to: Property & General Insurance Motor Fleet Marine & Hull Insurance Medical/Health Insurance Personal Insurance for Executive Management (Properties, Yachts, valuables) Review and assess insurance policies and renewals for adequacy, pricing, and alignment with risk exposures. Lead negotiations with brokers and insurers to secure optimal terms, conditions, and pricing. Act as the primary liaison between the group and insurance brokers/underwriters to ensure smooth coordination and communication. Analyze and underwrite insurance requirements for new assets, projects, and expansions. Handle all claims processing and settlements efficiently, ensuring timely and favorable resolutions. Provide expert guidance on risk management strategies and emerging trends in insurance. Evaluate and select the most suitable insurance brokers and medical TPAs for group needs. Ensure continuous coverage and compliance with all legal and regulatory insurance requirements in multiple jurisdictions. Develop and maintain accurate insurance records, schedules, and reports for internal and audit purposes. Prepare presentations and reports for senior management regarding coverage status, claims trends, and risk exposure. Required Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Insurance, Business Administration, Risk Management, or related field. Professional certifications such as ACII, CPCU, or equivalent are highly preferred. 8+ years of progressive experience in the insurance field, with at least 3 years in a senior insurance role within a corporate or group setting. Solid experience in dealing with medical insurance brokers , TPAs , and insurance providers . Strong background in underwriting , policy drafting and review , and claims management . Proven success in negotiation , contract finalization , and deal closure . Expertise in managing multi-line insurance portfolios for diversified businesses. Familiarity with international insurance standards and cross-border policy management. Key Skills: Excellent analytical and negotiation skills Strong interpersonal and communication abilities Attention to detail with a strategic mindset Ability to manage multiple policies and stakeholders simultaneously Proficiency in Microsoft Office and insurance management platforms Fluency in English (Arabic is a plus) Working Conditions: Office-based role with occasional travel to company sites, brokers, insurers, or regulatory meetings.
