Expires in 2 months Overview: Provide comprehensive IT support to all administrative and educational staff, ensuring effective use of systems and applications (intranet and internet). Oversee the installation, configuration, maintenance, and monitoring of the school's computer hardware, operating systems, and related technologies. Key Responsibilities: Install, configure, and maintain servers, PCs, peripherals, IT equipment, software, antivirus programs, utilities, tools, and patches. Manage and upgrade the school's network infrastructure for optimal performance and security. Verify functionality of new equipment before deployment. Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, applications, viruses, and security issues. Set up IT equipment in various school locations, including user accounts and profiles. Respond promptly to technical emergencies and support educational software projects. Prioritize issues based on severity and coordinate with relevant teams for resolution. Assess IT needs, recommend solutions, and implement best practices to support teaching and administration. Ensure data backup, software updates, data transfers, and system restoration procedures are followed. Maintain records of software licenses and notify GEMS-IT of upcoming upgrades or renewals. Keep an inventory of hardware, software, and credentials. Collaborate with GEMS-IT on policies, systems integration, infrastructure, procurement, and budgeting. Ensure compliance with GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct. Perform additional duties as assigned. Skills and Qualifications Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field. Experience: At least 5 years managing ICT infrastructure, preferably in a school setting. Skills: Strong communication, attention to detail, problem-solving, multitasking, and working under pressure. Technical Knowledge: Proficient in managing hardware and infrastructure including servers, networking equipment, end-user devices, multimedia equipment, and enterprise-level IT applications such as Windows Server (2019/2022), Microsoft Defender, System Center, and Office 365. Note: GEMS Education requires a UK-enhanced DBS or equivalent police check for all appointments.
