Aircraft Structural Engineer I

As an Aircraft Structural Engineer I , you will be responsible for supervising staff on a daily basis, whether on aircraft or in the workshop, ensuring that all structure repairs, rectifications, and modifications are carried out according to approved documentation, in a safe manner, meeting quality standards, and certified within company authorization limits. In this role, you will: Ensure repair, rectification, or modification work is performed in accordance with approved documentation from relevant authorities, maintaining compliance with the latest revisions of technical publications such as aircraft documentation, technical notices, quality notices, and EPMs. Confirm personal approvals/authorizations are valid and applicable to the aircraft types worked on, in close liaison with Quality Assurance/GCAA. Handle all off-aircraft tasks (e.g., spares handling, robberies, hold items) strictly according to company procedures, ensuring all paperwork is completed transparently. Support resource and manpower allocation to meet business targets and milestones. Monitor all activities and personnel to ensure safety rules and regulations are adhered to, highlighting deficiencies and contributing to quality improvement and safety culture. Maintain effective communication with managers and subordinates to ensure smooth operations and address any issues proactively. Complete detailed reports on incidents, accidents, structural inspections, defects, and repairs, which become part of aircraft records. Qualification requirements include: Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) in Engineering, Aeronautical. Minimum of 8+ years of engineering experience. Proven expertise in certifying sheet metal, metallic, and composite repairs on aircraft and components, with a recognized airline or maintenance organization. Completion of an apprenticeship or equivalent formal training. Full company authorizations in sheet metal and composite repairs for Emirates fleet, within the structure repair category of EPM, applicable to both on-aircraft and workshop repairs. At least seven years of aircraft engineering experience, including five years as an authorized repairer in the structure repair category. Leadership experience in managing a team of mechanics/technicians. Thorough knowledge of airline workshop procedures and international aviation standards.
