Completes timely patient admission and ongoing assessments, plans and updates plan of care based on individual patient needs2. Provides direct care and evaluates outcomes, incorporating principles of family centered care3. Monitors and documents patients’ condition and effectiveness of care and interventions4. Assesses educational needs of patients and significant others considering cultural needs and other special concerns5. Provides teaching and educational material to the patient and/or significant as appropriate6. Validates and documents patient and family understand of teaching7. Administers prescribed medications in accordance with approved policies and protocols, utilizing barcode scanning8. Carries out prescribed treatments in accordance with approved policies, protocols and educational material procedures CLINICAL / PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE1. Use the knowledge of one’s own role and the roles of other professions to appropriately assess and address the health care needs of the patients and populations served2. Demonstrates commitment to providing evidence based practice care by: adhering to protocols for the care of patient populations in which assigned, reporting needed changes in practice supported by evidence, and participating in evaluating patient outcomes utilizing evidence3. Delegates appropriate components of the nursing care plan to other members of the nursing team4. Maintains confidentiality regarding patient and family information by promoting professional interdisciplinary communication5. Respects Patient Rights and demonstrates behaviors of a Patients’ First Philosophy6. Incorporates the CCAD Professional Practice model and patient safety principles into clinical practice7. Reports errors and near-misses8. Responsible for completing charge capture education and in-service training for their Institute within CCAD. When charges are not captured automatically the nurse will complete within Epic in real time, Perioperative Services within 24 business hours PROFESSIONALISM1. Leads the caregiver team in the delivery of patient care collaborating with other disciplines to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes2. Apply relationship-building values and the principles of team dynamics to perform effectively in different team roles to plan and deliver patient/population-centered care that is safe, timely, efficient, effective, and equitable3. Maintains confidentiality with patients and families and adheres to Mubadala Code of Conduct4. Demonstrates active participation in resource stewardship5. Provides feedback on strategies to decrease costs, adherence to safe staffing models, and use of high-cost resources INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATION1. Communicate with patients, families, communities, and other health professionals in a responsive and responsible manner that supports a team approach to maintaining health and treatment of disease3. Communicates patient clinical information clearly and accurately, documenting pertinent information in medical record and ensuring complete documentation of patient care5. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or equivalent qualification is required2. Minimum three (3) year curriculum in Nursing from an accredited program is required3. Associate Degree Nurses from North America with evidence of passing the National exam is required (USA: NCLEX – RN & Canada: Licensing Exam)Experience1. Minimum of two (2) years post-graduate experience in an general surgery / operating room setting is required2. Note: experience requirement is waived for graduates of UAE Nursing colleges or universities after completion of an approved internship Certification and Licensure1. Valid and current national license is required2. BLS is required from AHA or an equivalent organization, or must be obtained within 3 months of employment3. ACLS, PALS relevant to area of specialty is required, from AHA or an equivalent organization; or must obtain within 6 months of employment Professional Membership1.
