Mechanical Product Development Engineer - AHOY Description As a Product Development Engineer, you will be at the forefront of our product innovation, leading the design, development, and optimization of atmospheric water generation and air conditioning devices. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer with experience in R&D who is eager to develop new products from concept to reality. You will be responsible for conducting R&D activities, utilizing CFD design software, and applying mechanical and thermal engineering principles to invent competitive, high-performance products. Key Responsibilities: Product Development: Lead the design and development of new products from concept to production, focusing on atmospheric water generation and air conditioning technologies. R&D Initiatives: Spearhead research and development activities to explore new concepts, materials, and technologies that will enhance product performance and sustainability. Simulation & Modeling: Use CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) design software, such as ANSYS or COMSOL, to simulate and optimize the thermal and fluid dynamics performance of our devices. Mechanical & Thermal Engineering: Apply engineering principles to solve design challenges, ensuring that products meet performance, efficiency, and reliability targets. Prototyping & Testing: Develop and test prototypes, analyze data, and iterate designs to achieve optimal product performance. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed records of design processes, R&D findings, and testing outcomes. Report progress and results to the leadership team. Requirements Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, thermal engineering, or a related field. 2-5 years of experience in product development/design and R&D, preferably in climate tech, HVAC, AWG, or related industries. Proficiency in CFD software (e.g., ANSYS, COMSOL) with experience in simulating and optimizing thermal systems. Strong understanding of mechanical and thermal engineering principles. Hands-on experience with prototyping, testing, and iterative design processes. Ability to work independently and take ownership of R&D and product development projects. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a startup environment. Passion for sustainability and a drive to create innovative, impactful technology. Knowledge and experience in material science, particularly with desiccants, is a plus. #J-18808-Ljbffr
