The organization is currently seeking a Senior Data Privacy and Governance Manager to join their team and ensure compliance with data privacy and governance regulations. Key Responsibilities: Advise on compliance with data privacy and governance regulations. Act as Deputy Data Protection Officer as assigned by the CISO. Execute and manage DPIA assessments across business, IT, and cybersecurity teams. Deliver privacy projects on time and within budget, ensuring quality. Create and manage the privacy controls framework, designing monitoring metrics for risk and performance. Assist in designing data catalogues, data flows, and data quality initiatives. Manage data privacy and governance frameworks aligned with the enterprise risk framework. Maintain and seek approvals for roles and responsibilities matrix within privacy and data governance frameworks. Oversee compliance with data privacy and governance laws for subsidiaries and international operations. Monitor adherence to relevant laws and regulations. Develop and execute data privacy and governance plans as approved by the CISO. Lead data privacy and governance programs and build the corresponding team. Build internal capabilities and act as a point of contact for relevant stakeholders and authorities. Manage budgets related to data privacy and governance. Implement data privacy controls to ensure regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR). Conduct Data Privacy Impact Assessments for significant changes, ensuring privacy by design. Monitor and enforce adherence to policies and procedures. Address data subject queries within legal timeframes. Coordinate with vendors processing data on behalf of the organization. Provide advice on privacy breaches and legal compliance. Stay updated on laws and regulations, issuing recommendations for compliance. Oversee data processing activities, including identification, classification, and management of sensitive data. Automate privacy and governance processes where feasible. Ensure data assets are governed by comprehensive data management practices. Approve exception requests and assess control effectiveness. Establish and monitor data quality metrics and guidelines. Assist in identifying, classifying, and documenting sensitive data to ensure compliance (e.g., GDPR, CCPA). Review data governance workflows, including lineage, access controls, and retention policies. Lead the implementation of data governance tools and technologies with IT teams. Collaborate with risk and compliance teams to ensure alignment with policies and regulations. Act as a subject matter expert on data governance and privacy issues. Coordinate with external vendors and partners to uphold standards. Participate in audits and assessments related to data governance and compliance. Identify data gaps and oversee data profiling, cataloguing, metadata management, and data quality initiatives. Support the management of enterprise information maps and data transfer activities. Contribute to strategic data initiatives that reduce risk and enable business value. Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field. 8+ years of professional experience in data privacy and governance. Hands-on experience with data privacy frameworks and governance tools. Proven track record in developing and implementing privacy controls. Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and risk mitigation strategies. Experience with Data Privacy Impact Assessments and third-party assessments.
