Description
Ensures team member adherence to generally accepted engineering and design practices, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications. Supports the standardization of equipment specifications, drawings, and document templates. Contributes to the understanding of technical knowledge, legal requirements, and customer specifications whenever viable and lawful. Uses local/global standards to support technical excellence. Supports checking, peer reviews, and incorporation of comments and findings. Demonstrates a visible and active commitment to HSE management and its associated requirements in a project environment. Expert knowledge in design & selection of HVAC equipment for offshore and onshore oil & gas projects of comparable complexity and value is essential. Experience in study work, cost estimation, and assessment of existing equipment. Experience in CONCEPT / SELECT / DEFINE phase activities, Detailed Design, EPC phase, procurement of equipment, and management of third parties is preferred. Experience with Consultant, owner, or Project Management Consultant (PMC) organization in executing similar projects is preferable. Participation in projects in the Middle East is preferred; ADNOC experience is advantageous. Demonstrates capability to actively engage in client workshops covering design review, HAZID, HAZOP, constructability, sustainability, reliability, quality reviews, etc. Has experience in developing discipline Basis of Design and equipment selection philosophy. Able to complete equipment selection studies for new equipment and adequacy studies of existing equipment. Possesses expert knowledge in preparing specifications, mechanical datasheets, requisitions, and conducting technical bid evaluations for HVAC equipment and packages. Can describe engineering skills to consistently deliver quality, accurate, and timely deliverables for Worley and its clients. Conducts document checking and design verification tasks for compliance to company and project specifications. Performs interdisciplinary coordination activities. Must have extensive knowledge about codes, standards, & recommended practices for this discipline. Should have knowledge of other international codes and standards, statutory and regulatory requirements, and a good understanding of onshore/offshore engineering practices for mechanical-rotating engineering design in oil & gas / refinery / petrochemical facilities. Familiarity with ADNOC Standards and procedures is an advantage. Has expert knowledge and experience in design & engineering of HVAC equipment such as: Centrifugal Chiller Compressors (specific to Process Gas Applications) Air cooled chiller Package and DX type units Chilled water Pumps HVAC control philosophy Fans and blowers Extensive knowledge of procurement support and package management for equipment purchase, including manufacturer ITP, sub-supplier order, material certification, welding, NDE, testing procedures, manufacture hold points, stage payment, FAT, and inspection release. Experience in site visits, information gathering, and liaising with client representatives. Qualifications, Accreditation, Training Technical degree in science or engineering. Trained in leadership and project execution. Licensed with a local engineering governing body where required. Training in risk management or quality. Job Specific Knowledge / Experience Relevant discipline experience with a strong background in discipline work, regulations, codes, manufacturing standards, and industry practices. Skilled in estimating project costs and writing proposals. Experience in project leadership with expertise in regulations, codes, standards, and industry practices.
