Description Job Summary Shapes and activates the JWMM bar and lounge experience, creating signature cocktails and luxury beverage journeys. Strives to continually improve guest and associate satisfaction and maximize financial performance in areas of responsibility.Scope A full-time position based at JW Marriott Marquis Dubai.Number of direct reports based on operations.Titles of direct reports based on operations.Experience: Minimum of 2-year experience in a similar position within a five-star hotel.Education or Certification: High school diploma or GED; 4 years of experience in the food and beverage, culinary, or related professional area.OR2-year degree from an accredited university in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality Business Administration, or related major; 2 years of experience in the food and beverage, culinary, or related professional area.Core Job Responsibility Beverage Concept Development: Design and implement unique, seasonal, and brand-aligned beverage programs for bars, restaurants, lounges, and events, adhering to Forbes luxury standards.Curate drink menus that reflect the property's identity, guest profile, and market trends.Innovate with ingredients, techniques, and presentations to create signature experiences.Leading Beverage Quality & Consistency: Set quality standards for preparation, presentation, and service of all beverages.Conduct regular tastings, pour tests, and visual checks to ensure consistency across outlets.Ensure every drink served meets the visual, sensory, and storytelling expectations defined by Forbes hospitality standards.Training & Development of Bar Teams: Deliver hands-on training in mixology techniques, beverage knowledge, service rituals, and guest interaction.Upskill team in areas such as classic cocktails, spirit categories, wine knowledge, and luxury service delivery, following Forbes training best practices.Create mentorship programs for junior bartenders and service staff.Collaboration across F&B and Experience Teams: Partner with chefs, event teams, and experience curators to craft integrated food-beverage pairings and themed concepts.Support marketing with beverage storytelling for campaigns, social content, and activations.Align beverage experiences with guest journey and seasonal property programming.Beverage Operations & Inventory Control: Oversee procurement of spirits, mixers, tools, and glassware in collaboration with purchasing and suppliers.Monitor inventory, wastage, pour costs, and profitability.Standardize recipes and costings using tools like bar books or inventory systems.Trend Monitoring & Innovation: Stay updated on global mixology, zero-proof trends, sustainability practices, and emerging ingredients.Introduce modern techniques (e.g., washing, infusion, clarification, smoke) where suitable.Experiment with local ingredients or cultural influences to create signature identity.Guest Experience & Personalization: Engage with guests directly to personalize cocktails and tell the story behind each drink, embodying Forbes' personalized service ideals.Create memorable bar experiences, such as tableside mixing, tasting flights, or exclusive off-menu items.Collect and act on guest feedback to fine-tune offerings.Health, Safety & Compliance: Ensure all beverage operations comply with health, safety, and licensing regulations.Train staff in responsible alcohol service and hygiene standards.Maintain clean and well-organized bar areas and storage.Management Competencies Safety and Security Report work-related accidents or other injuries immediately to manager/supervisor.Follow company and department safety and security policies and but normally not less than 48 hours per week.Guest Relations Actively listen and respond positively to guest questions, concerns, and requests using brand or property-specific processes (e.g., LEARN, JW Symphony of Service) to resolve issues, delight, and build trust.Assist other employees to ensure proper coverage and prompt guest service.Anticipate guests' service needs, including asking questions of guests to better understand their needs and watching/listening to guest preferences and acting on them whenever possible.Address guests' service needs in a professional, positive, and timely manner.Engage guests in conversation regarding their stay, property services, and area attractions/offerings.Thank guests with genuine appreciation and provide a fond farewell.Welcome and acknowledge each and every guest with a smile, eye contact, and a friendly verbal greeting, using the guest's name when possible.Supply guests/residents with directions and information regarding property amenities, services, and hours of operation, and local areas of interest and activities.Working with Others Support all coworkers and treat them with dignity and respect.Handle sensitive
