The Assistant Resident Engineer will beassociated with the AECOMs construction supervision disciplineengineers independently or under the direction of the Resident Engineer advising on all engineering matters related to the wetutilities/works constructionrelevant.Job Duties Reviewof Inspectors Daily Reports General oversightof Inspectors daily activities including works assignments on-siteperformance and guidance on the supervision of the Contractorsoperations Review and Comment/Approve of the Contractors Shop Drawings as delegated by the Resident Engineer Review and assist the Resident Engineer to provide approvals/comments to the Contractors technicalsubmittals (Method Statement Material shop drawings ... etc.) asdelegated by the Resident Engineer Coordinationwith Contractors supervisory personnel regarding schedule sequenceand method of work Review the as-built drawingsin coordination with inspectors andsurveyors Witness the laboratory tests andverify test results.Report non-conformances bythe Contractor if observed while the Contractor executes his scopeof services Assist in punch listpreparation Coordinate fieldinspections.Be an activemember of the project leadership team including interaction withthe Client.Set manage and control delivery ofall contract elements and objectives including scope qualitybudgets schedules stakeholder interfaces Communication /reportingenvironmental and Health and Safety.Clearlyconvey instructions to staff members in order to achieve theproject goals.Maintain the RE informed of alldevelopments which may affect the project so that these can bedealt with immediately.Must be technicallysound to interpret survey and engineering submittals to channelizeand solve problemsexpeditiously.Take the requiredmeasures to identify slippage in the Contractors activities earlyso that immediate recovery actions can be taken by thecontractor.Use extensive relevant constructionexperience to proactively anticipate and prevent problems beforethey arise.Portray strong leadership skillswhich promote mutual respect both from the AECOM Construction Management staff as well as the Contractor.Ensure high quality of works duringthe construction period strict compliance with the Employers Requirements Projects Specifications and Safety Requirements Assessment of the Contractorscompliance to the quality management System as specified in thelatest applicable standards.Review of Contractors Design for compliance with Employers Requirements Authority Requirements End-User Requirements and Local and International Standards.Review andprovide necessary comments/approval to the Contractors technicalsubmittals including but not limited to calculations drawingsmaterial etc.Submit to the Resident Engineerdaily weekly reports with details of the progress of fabricationconstruction testing of components parts and assemblies and statusof materials procurement. Any non-conformity and malpractice foundshall also be reported.Evaluate Contractorspersonnel equipment materials andsubcontractors Monitor progress of all projectparticipants.Participate in projectconstruction meetings.Perform claims analysisand maintain a project claims file.Assist inresolution of construction problems.Analyzevalue engineering proposals.Preparenon-conformance report to the contractor if observed while the Contractor executes his scope ofservices Qualifications: Experience Minimum12 years of related Construction Supervision / Managementexperience on projects with a broad general engineeringbackground. 8 years of experience in infrastructureproject and 3 years UAE experience Must haveworked on projects in the capacity of a Senior Engineer and / or Assistant Resident Engineer as aminimum.Degree educated in a relevantdiscipline Additional Information : About AECOMAECOM is proud tooffer comprehensive benefits to meet the diverse needs of ouremployees.
