Assistant Manager, SAP Basis Administration

If you are self-motivated, detail-oriented, and in early to mid-career stage in SAP BASIS/Authorization/Security, come join our dynamic team as Lead Specialist, SAP Basis Administration. • The SAP BASIS / Security Specialist is responsible for managing the technical foundation and security of the company’s SAP landscape, ensuring the availability, performance, and compliance of SAP systems. • This role involves performing system installations, upgrades, monitoring, and user management, as well as implementing security policies to protect critical business information. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in SAP BASIS administration and security practices, ensuring seamless operations across the SAP ecosystem. Job Role Key Functional Responsibilities SAP BASIS Administration: • Perform installations, upgrades, and patching for SAP systems (ERP, S/4HANA, BW, CRM, etc.). • Manage system performance, availability, and capacity through proactive monitoring and tuning. • Conduct backups, restores, and disaster recovery testing for SAP environments. • Maintain SAP instances, databases, and operating system interfaces. SAP Security & Governance: • Implement and maintain user roles, authorizations, and profiles across SAP systems. • Manage Identity and Access Management (IAM) within SAP environments, ensuring compliance with segregation of duties (SoD) policies. • Conduct security audits, vulnerability assessments, and compliance checks (e.g., SOX, GDPR). • Manage security patches and coordinate with cybersecurity teams to address threats and vulnerabilities. System Monitoring & Troubleshooting: • Monitor SAP systems using tools like SAP Solution Manager, identifying and resolving issues proactively. • Analyse and troubleshoot performance issues related to SAP applications, databases, and operating systems. • Handle incidents, change requests, and service requests, ensuring minimal disruption to business processes. Collaboration & Project Support: • Collaborate with SAP functional, development, and infrastructure teams to support implementations and upgrades. • Participate in new module rollouts, ensuring BASIS and security components align with project goals. • Coordinate with external vendors and consultants for technical support when needed. Continuous Improvement & Documentation: • Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements within SAP operations. • Maintain comprehensive documentation of configurations, security roles, and operational procedures. • Stay updated on the latest SAP innovations, BASIS tools, and security best practices. Stakeholder Communication: • Provide regular updates to stakeholders on the progress of product development and any issues that may arise. • Support training and documentation efforts of peers in the team to ensure end-users are equipped with the necessary knowledge where needed. Solution Design & Implementation: • Work closely with SAP consultants and developers to design and implement solutions. • Ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and meet business needs. Testing & Validation: • Collaborate with QA teams to develop test plans and validate solutions. • Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) and gather feedback for continuous improvement. Compliance & Security: • Ensure that solutions comply with internal policies, industry standards, and security protocols. • Maintain detailed documentation of all configurations, customizations, and processes for future reference and audit purposes. Job Role Key Managerial Accountabilities Soft Skills: • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities. • Excellent communication and documentation skills. • Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): • System uptime and availability metrics. • Compliance with audit and security requirements. • Timely resolution of incidents and service requests. • Successful execution of upgrades and system enhancements. Job Requirements Education • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. • SAP BASIS or Security certifications (preferred). • Proficiency in SAP installations, upgrades, and transport management. • Knowledge of single sign-on (SSO), encryption, and security certificates. • Familiarity with troubleshooting tools such as SAP Solution Manager, Early Watch Reports, and ST22 dumps (preferred). • Ability to use ABAP for performance analysis and debugging (preferred). Experience • 5+ years of experience in SAP BASIS administration OR SAP Cyber Security. • Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA, ECC, BW, Solution Manager, and SAP Fiori. • Strong understanding of operating systems (Linux, Windows) and databases (HANA, Oracle, or SQL). • Experience with identity management tools and SAP GRC for governance, risk, and compliance. #J-18808-Ljbffr
