Our client, a leading international technology provider, is currently seeking to recruit an Area Sales Manager. You will be directly reporting to the Director Head of Sales-Africa / Middle East. Scope and Purpose: Sales of Currency Automation Products and Services in the French African region in coordination with the Director Head of Sales BNPO Africa / Middle East and in compliance with the regional sales strategy. Establish and maintain strong and firm relationships with customers. Focus on triggering new sales opportunities by finding appropriate solutions in our product mix and packaging them in an offer to meet the customers’ requirements. Attend to the customer during the complete business cycle and follow up on project milestones in close cooperation with Sales Administration and Project Management. Monitor competitive activities, identify customer future needs in terms of product portfolio and currency automation solutions; build up a strong link to the Product Marketing / Management. Key Result Areas / Responsibilities:

  1. Achieve assigned individual sales targets, as well as company objectives for the allocated sales area.
  2. Liaise and negotiate with very high-ranking public and private sector staff.
  3. Close deals and sign sales and maintenance contracts with direct customers.
  4. Report and forecast sales activities.
  5. Monitor and report competitor activities.
  6. Travel extensively within the sales area to build up and maintain customer relationships.
Job Skills:
  1. At least 5 years of direct sales experience for technical products in the Africa region.
  2. Already sitting in a Senior Sales Manager position.
  3. Preferably dealing in special purpose machinery manufacturing business.
  4. Experience with direct sales, ideally in banking-related field or any capital equipment field.
  5. To be au fait with high-level decision makers.
  6. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  7. Capability to listen, comprehend customer’s needs and derive adequate technical and commercial solutions.
  8. Advanced technical or business-related degree.
  9. Mature approach to business and understanding of core principles of key account management.
  10. Fluency in written and spoken English / French is mandatory.
  11. Language skills in Portuguese or Spanish are advantageous.
  12. Candidate must be willing to travel extensively all over the African region (about 60 to 70%).
