Yango is seeking an experienced individual to join our International Public Policy team and lead our engagement with the government in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Yango's Public Policy team advances the company's strategic goals by proactively establishing and managing the company's relationships with government officials and advising on regulatory matters across a wide range of issues that impact different business units. The Public Policy Manager will work with internal partners throughout the business to help identify and define the company's public policy and business objectives in Saudi Arabia, and develop and manage relationships with policymakers, regulators, and other external stakeholders in order to further those objectives. As an integral part of our small and growing policy function, you will work on some of the most exciting regulatory and business issues in technology today. This role reports to Yango's VP of International Public Policy and is based in Riyadh.You will be responsible for:Creating opportunities for Yango to engage with regulators, policymakers, influencers, and thought leaders in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.Working with internal business partners to understand all aspects of Yango's business and its needs in the region, as well as advising on the impact of public policy developments on the business.Monitoring, analyzing, and engaging in government, legislative, and regulatory initiatives in Saudi Arabia.Sensitizing policymakers, regulators, and other stakeholders to Yango's solutions.Drafting comment letters, consultation responses, and white papers that advocate for the company and its goals.Participating in industry working groups and events that increase Yango's visibility with government stakeholders.Working with cross-functional teams and acting as an advisor to the business.Building a strong network of support among key external stakeholders to enhance advocacy efforts, including trade associations, non-government organizations, and industry peers.Accompanying our C-suite level executives visiting from company HQ to meetings with officials in Saudi, as well as scheduling those meetings and preparing briefings for them as necessary.You might be a fit if you have:Saudi citizenship.10+ years of relevant experience working in policy for emerging technology, the Saudi government, or public sector consulting.Experience working with Saudi government agencies and a solid network of connections.A master's or post-graduate degree in a relevant field is preferred.Excellent judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills.The ability to collaborate with many contributors and cross-functional partners in different time zones.The ability to present complex issues in a clear and concise manner, both in writing and verbally.Willingness to travel as necessary.Fluency in English.About us:Yango is a leading international tech company that offers cutting-edge mobility and delivery services as a digital platform across more than 20 countries in Africa, Latin America, Europe, and the Middle East.
