- Develop and execute the logistics strategy that aligns with the company’s overall business objectives. Lead the logistics team, fostering a culture of efficiency, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Identify opportunities to improve logistics operations, reduce costs, and enhance service levels. Oversee the optimization of supply chain processes, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management.
- Manage the transportation network, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of goods to customers. Negotiate and manage relationships with third-party logistics providers, transportation carriers, and suppliers.
- Oversee warehouse operations, ensuring inventory accuracy, efficient stock management, and timely fulfillment of orders. Implement best practices for warehousing, including safety protocols and storage systems.
- Ensure effective inventory management across all locations, optimizing stock levels to meet demand while minimizing excess inventory. Implement systems for accurate tracking and reporting of inventory movements.
- Develop and manage logistics budgets. Monitor and report on logistics costs, analyzing variances and implementing corrective actions when necessary. Identify cost-saving opportunities across the logistics function.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for logistics operations and monitor performance regularly. Provide regular reports to senior management on logistics performance, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure logistics operations comply with all regulatory requirements, including safety, environmental, and customs regulations. Identify and mitigate risks related to transportation, inventory, and overall logistics operations.
- Stay current with advancements in logistics technology and automation. Evaluate and implement software solutions, tools, and systems that enhance the efficiency of logistics operations.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the logistics team, ensuring high levels of performance, engagement, and professional growth. Foster a collaborative and results-driven team environment.
- Ensure the logistics function supports customer satisfaction by meeting delivery timelines, providing accurate order fulfillment, and managing any delivery-related issues effectively.
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree (e.g., MBA or Master’s in Supply Chain Management) is a plus.
- 10+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or operations management, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role (e.g., Director or Head of Logistics).
- Strong knowledge of logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management.
- Proven leadership abilities with experience in managing large teams.
- In-depth understanding of supply chain and logistics technologies, including TMS (Transportation Management Systems), WMS (Warehouse Management Systems), and ERP systems.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Ability to manage budgets and financial resources effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- CILT (Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport) certification is a PLUS
