We are seeking a highly experienced Material Inspector to join our team in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will have over 7 years of recent experience working with construction consultants on utilities projects in Abu Dhabi. The Material Inspector will be responsible for inspecting, testing, and ensuring the quality and compliance of construction materials used in project sites.Your new role, what's involved?
Material Inspection and Testing:- Conduct inspections of construction materials, including concrete, steel, asphalt, and aggregates, to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
- Perform field and laboratory tests on construction materials to verify their quality and properties.
- Document and report test results accurately, and maintain detailed records of material inspections and tests.
- Monitor the quality and consistency of construction materials delivered to project sites.
- Identify any defects or non-conformities in materials and coordinate with suppliers and contractors to address them.
- Ensure that materials meet required standards and specifications before they are incorporated into construction works.
- Prepare and submit regular inspection reports documenting material inspection and testing activities.
- Maintain accurate records of material certifications, test reports, and other relevant documentation.
- Communicate any issues or concerns related to materials to project managers and stakeholders.
- Coordinate with project teams, suppliers, and contractors to ensure timely delivery and inspection of construction materials.
- Communicate material requirements and specifications to suppliers and contractors, and provide guidance on quality expectations.
- Participate in project meetings to provide updates on material inspection and testing activities.
- Ensure all material inspection and testing activities comply with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Promote a culture of safety and compliance among project teams and contractors.
- Conduct safety inspections and audits of material storage and handling facilities as needed.
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
- A minimum of 7 years of recent experience as a Material Inspector with construction consultants on utilities projects in Abu Dhabi.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, testing methods, and standards.
- Experience with field and laboratory testing of construction materials.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
- Relevant certifications in material testing (e.g., ACI, ASTM) are highly desirable.
