Title: Executive Director Joint Venture Function: Leadership Location: Iraq / Middle East Status/Rotation: Travel be in country - circa 125 days per Annum for board meetings. As an Executive Director of a Joint Venture, your main responsibility is to lead the joint venture to achieve its objectives whilst maximizing value for both parties. The Joint Venture is a partnership between two companies, and the Executive Director will be the primary point of contact for both parties involved and will report to the Management Committee. The Executive Director will have P&L responsibility and drive the company's speed, quality, and growth, overseeing all aspects of the business, including financial performance, customer satisfaction, and employee engagement.

Job Responsibilities

  • Management; Provide strong leadership to oversee the daily management of the business in accordance with the powers delegated to them to deliver in alignment with the JV business plan.
  • Strategic Development; Develop and execute effective sales and marketing strategies, identifying new opportunities that drive revenue growth whilst maintaining high quality and customer satisfaction standards.
  • Financial Management; Oversee the financial operations of the Joint Venture, including budgeting and reporting. In addition, compile periodic reports on operational and financial performance to be presented to the Management Committee, in collaboration with the CFO.
  • Customer Relationship; Build strong relationships with key stakeholders inclusive of customers and suppliers to drive growth and ensure the company's continued success.
  • Operational Management; Develop and implement operational processes and procedures to enable successful operations of a newly established gas turbine component repair workshop.
  • Technical Leadership; Provide leadership and direction to technical and engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement to achieve speed and quality goals.
  • Commercial; Establish a comprehensive commercial framework to maximize value creation and minimize risk across the operation.
  • Compliance; Ensure that all business activities are conducted with the utmost integrity and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations of Iraq, whilst maintaining the highest ethical standards and accountability.

Required Skills / Knowledge

  • Expertise in transformational and growth leadership.
  • Proficient in managing a P&L.
  • In-depth understanding and practical knowledge in the areas of operations and workshops.
  • Success in the implementation of effective and consistent business processes within a component repair operation.
  • Understanding of planning, economics, and financial controls (related to OPEX, CAPEX, investment decisions, business development, etc.).
  • Experience in implementing lean production practices (some level of Six Sigma training an advantage).
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, establishing and maintaining solid relationships with customers, suppliers, employees, and shareholders to drive growth and achieve speed and quality goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire technical teams to achieve results and foster a culture of innovation.
  • Strong ethical standards and a commitment to integrity, transparency, and accountability.

Experience

  • Extensive experience with repairing gas turbines hot gas components, including repair and testing of Buckets, Blades, Nozzles, Vanes, Shroud Blocks, Combustion Liners, and Baskets.
  • Direct experience in gas turbine technology and parts preferred.
  • Industry experience to be applied to used serviceable parts preferred.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Internal candidates must advise current Line Manager of application.
