The Senior z/OS Storage Specialist will provide operational support and guidance to internal clients. This role is responsible for performing a wide variety of daily storage management tasks as well as providing recommendations for effective and efficient management of storage systems across all mainframe disk subsystems, virtual and non-virtual tape systems, space management, and Global Mirror (DR) maintenance. The individual will be part of the Larger Systems Support team and will work specifically on Storage/SAN/NAS and Backup Systems.Core Skills:Should have solid experience of the z/OS operating system with experience of DFSMS (HSM, RMM & DSS).Should have extensive working experience in IBM storage products including DS8700.Configure & Maintain Remote (XRC) Working experience in PPRC.Support and Maintain the IBM Flashcopy process for QA (FC & MainStar).A good understanding of IDCAMS plus creating and managing datasets and System/User catalogs and USS Files is essential.Function requires 13+ years of relevant experience in a large scale z/OS storage environment with 10+ years of relevant experience as a senior storage specialist working in a z/OS environment.Education & Certifications:Bachelor's degree in Computing or related (Mandatory).IBM mainframe Certified Storage Specialist (mandatory).
