The Repair and Maintenance Technician role undertakes hands-on tasks and utilizes Weatherford's facilities, equipment, machinery, and systems. The role applies techniques and practices to complete the scope of tasks covering inspection, repair, and maintenance of field tools, preparing them for their next assignment. Tasks will span the entire process from receiving the tools, dismantling, repairing, and refurbishing using technical manuals, procedures, and technical work instructions. While this is a generic job description covering the different levels of the R&M Technician position, all aspects of the roles and responsibilities are relevant. More senior roles lead and oversee tasks carried out by other R&M employees. Responsibilities
- Maintains the highest standards of corporate governance, ensuring that all activities are carried out ethically and in compliance with Company’s Security, Compliance & HSE policies, Management System, relevant laws, regulations, standards, and industry practices.
- Engages regularly with their line manager to discuss personal performance, objectives, and opportunities to enhance skills and experience to support career potential.
- Supervisors are expected to actively engage their employees to support talent management through Weatherford’s performance management process, including but not limited to talent assessments, succession planning & regular coaching opportunities.
- Collaborates with Human Resources & Training Development to drive strategies for the recruitment & retention of key personnel & to foster an environment that supports the attraction & retention of a high-performing talented workforce.
- 0-2 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
- Technical/Vocational and Diploma in Engineering.
- Basic Computer Skills.
- Basic Mathematics.
- Working with hazardous materials, radioactive elements & explosives. Awareness of NDT, NDE and ATEX policies & principles.
- Ability to diagnose issues and problems with tools/equipment for more senior roles.
- Perform maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and monitoring of equipment.
- Critical thinking, active learning & listening, complex problem solving.
- Good reading and writing skills, strong judgment and decision-making in line with policies & procedures.
- Time management.
- Quality Control Analysis to ensure products meet required standards.
- Capable of meeting the physical demands of the role.
- Information & task ordering and ability to identify potential problems and understand solutions.
- Ability to react effectively and efficiently in operating tools and machinery.
- Ability to visualize how tools and products will look when preparing for assembly, repair, or modifications.
