Roles and responsibilities

As an R&D Project Engineer for Life Safety business , you will be responsible for the successful execution of projects involving new product or technology development and value engineering projects, along with appropriate budget allocation. Responsibilities include Program/Project Management of large, medium, and multi small-scale projects across the Life Safety business and its product lines. Key Responsibilities

Manage the business case of the engineering programs and projects, ensuring responsibility, authority, and accountability for project scope delivery and successful execution within technical, schedule, cost, and quality commitments.
Execute Integrated Product Team leadership across the Program, seeking team input to promote rapid resolution of issues. Coach and provide feedback on performance indicators.
Establish objectives and goals while providing direction to program and project teams regarding customer concerns, potential changes in scope, and risk assessment. Facilitate the implementation of program management processes at the business unit.
Manage effective program communications and improve organizational responsiveness to customer requirements, ensuring customer expectations and commitments are met internally.
Utilize standard program management processes and provide adequate support to the program and project teams by coordinating PM reviews and preparing & publishing PM metrics and reports.
Maintain metrics for program, cost, quality, technical performance, and delivery through all PROLaunch phases.
Manage all risks and requirements of the program through effective planning, control, and integration of all projects into the programs, measuring all elements to ensure successful achievement of requirements and goals.
Ensure effective change/scope management processes are utilized.
Provide periodic program updates regarding milestones and problem/high-risk areas to the business units as well as divisional and sector levels.
Balance resources and allocate them across various programs/projects and sustaining activities utilizing ProPM tool.
Act as the overall Program interface with Management Team & Senior Leadership and the customer.
Coordinate and monitor program technical personnel across multiple sites.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical/Electronics/Electromechanical or Equivalent)
5+ years of experience in project management of electrical products and control systems

Desired candidate profile

Experience in Electrical New Product Development programs.
Proficient in Program and Project Management methodologies, processes, and tools.
Project Management Institute accreditation or equivalent is desired.
Risk Management experience.
Strong organizational, presentation, communication, and time management skills.
Results-driven with the ability to work within an international, culturally diverse, and matrix-based organization.
Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and leadership skills.
