We're bridging two worlds moving towards more sustainable energy sources while helping to provide the energy chemicals and resources needed now.Primary ObjectiveCarry out Telecom design engineering activities including coordination with the instrumentation and telecom design groups to engineer tie-ins on existing offshore and onshore oil and gas processing facilities.Specific AccountabilitiesPerform Telecom engineering design duties associated with Greenfield and Brownfield offshore and onshore oil and gas processing facilities and downstream facilities such as refineries and petrochemicals.Duties will include data gathering and site survey of existing telecom systems.Preparation of Front End Engineering deliverables including design basis specifications, datasheets, sizing calculations, studies, and reports.Preparation of FEED and detail design deliverables such as Block Diagrams, Location Layouts, Cable Routing Layouts, Interconnection drawings, etc. in collaboration with designers.Carry out bid evaluation/vendor document review and approval.Coordination and network design/interface with required Process Control & Safety systems.Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system relevant to the Oil & Gas Business Unit.Responsible for personal safety and safe working practices for the Oil & Gas Business Unit. Understand and follow OH&S procedures.Exposure to manhour estimate and preparation of proposals.Matching IndicatorsWork is performed in accordance with broad technical guidelines and with minimal supervision.Ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritize work to achieve them.Willing to learn and work on other areas such as instrumentation and control systems if project demands or opportunity is given within the organization.Position Specific Experience:Experience in Telecommunications projects; both standalone and integrated.Sound knowledge of International codes and standards related to the telecommunication field.Design experience in various long-haul transmission systems encompassing SDH/PDH nodes, MPLS, TP nodes, Gigabit Ethernet switches, etc.Design of systems such as Telephone System, LAN System, TETRA System, Microwave Radio, VHF Marine Radio, VSAT, PAGA, ACS, CCTV, Intruder detection system, Structured Cabling System, FO Cabling, Telephone cabling, etc. to suit client requirements.Interface requirements with various Control systems, Electrical Systems, etc.Cybersecurity.Preparation of Telecom system specifications and equipment datasheets.Preparation of Technical Bid evaluation and recommendations.FO link budget calculations, Bandwidth requirements, Radio coverage study, Speaker coverage calculations, etc. using standard software available in the telecom industry.Responsible for working with the provisions and guidelines of company QA procedures.Essential Skills/ExperienceEngineering degree or equivalent; previous experience in a similar role is highly regarded.Anticipate at least relevant experience with Telecom design and engineering in the Oil & Gas / Refinery / Petrochemical environment including a minimum of 5 years of offshore experience.Knowledge of hazardous area requirements.A positive attitude towards Health, Safety, and the Environment.The ability to work within a project team.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Excellent time management skills and the ability to work unsupervised.Moving forward togetherWe're committed to building a diverse, inclusive, and respectful workplace where everyone feels they belong, can bring themselves, and are heard.
