Environmental Officer

Role & responsibilities - Environmental officers have many responsibilities, including:

• Environmental regulations : Ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and standards for pollution and waste management
• Environmental policies : Implementing environmental policies and practices, and developing strategies and action plans
• Waste management : Coordinating waste management, especially in industries that produce a lot of waste
• Environmental sampling : Sampling soil and water near facilities for analysis
• Equipment testing : Inspecting and testing the output of company equipment
• Reporting : Preparing reports of findings and sharing results with businesses or agencies
• Recommendations : Making recommendations to help organizations reduce their environmental impacts
• Environmental campaigns : Raising awareness of environmental issues through events, talks, and publicity materials
• Environmental education : Producing educational resources and liaising with schools
