Database Specialist

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

JOB PURPOSE

1. Design, architect, build SQL Server & Oracle platforms determining business requirements to planning and deploying test and production systems.
2. Interface with application development teams to resolve problems with application/database systems.
3. Manage multiple applications or service areas and projects simultaneously to ensure on-time response, quality delivery and resolutions.
4. Support continuous improvement through optimizations and automation of the systems and processes for existing and new database services.
5. Significant knowledge of SQL Server on-premises and Azure SQL services; this will be your passion and you will be required to get under the bonnet of a live system, coming up with innovative solutions.
6. Good working knowledge with Oracle database technology on Windows and Linux platforms.
7. Good understanding of Oracle backup and recovery RMAN/Data pump.
8. Good working knowledge of High Availability technologies i.e., SQL Failover Clusters & Availability Groups.
9. Strong hands-on experience administering large, high volume 24/7 SQL and Oracle databases in complex enterprise environments, with business application and third-party products, solutions, and technologies, including experience with Windows Clustering, SaaS or web development, and hands-on DevOps experience.
10. Set up and maintain Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) and Encryption.
11. 5+ years of experience engineering and supporting enterprise databases.
