- To attend to equipment malfunctioning or breakdown, troubleshooting and repairs by welding and fabrication or using lifting appliances to bring back the machine into operation.
- Carry out planned and preventive maintenance as per the department’s schedule.
- To attend and perform equipment breakdown or emergency work at any time if needed, even at night & report for duty when instructed.
- To record daily in the logbook with 100% accuracy for all observations, breakdowns and actions taken, work achieved or in progress.
- To work as process, shift mechanic or change in routine working schedule if needed with instructions from department seniors.
- To ensure safe working with all necessary safety guidelines, safe keeping of tools & daily cleanliness of work areas.
- To attend and ensure operational firefighting equipment when necessary.
- Should have good technical knowledge in rotating equipment such as pumps (reciprocating as well as rotary), reciprocating compressors, fans, blowers, and material handling equipment like belt conveyors, metal conveyors, and other stationary equipment.
- Should have experience in overhauling all rotating equipment and troubleshooting experience in process/production industries.
- Should have thorough knowledge in using measuring instruments and alignment of rotating equipment.
