Job Title: Senior Surgical Inpatient (IP) Nurse Location: Sharjah, UAE Department: Surgical Inpatient Unit Job Summary: The Senior Surgical Inpatient Nurse is responsible for overseeing and providing high-quality, patient-centered care to surgical inpatients. This role involves managing the surgical unit, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities: - **Patient Care:**- Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care for surgical patients. - Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as prescribed by physicians. - Monitor patients' condition and progress, reporting any changes to the medical team. - **Leadership:**- Supervise and mentor junior nursing staff, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and standards. - Conduct training sessions and continuous education for staff to keep them updated on best practices and new techniques. - Act as a role model and resource person for other nursing staff. - **Collaboration:**- Coordinate with surgeons, anesthetists, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients. - Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of individualized patient care plans. - **Quality Assurance:**- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, standards, and policies. - Participate in quality improvement initiatives and audits to enhance patient care and safety. - Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including assessments, interventions, and outcomes. - **Patient Education and Support:**- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding surgical procedures, post-operative care, and recovery. - Address any concerns or questions from patients and their families, ensuring they are well-informed and comfortable with their care plans. ### **Qualifications:**- **Education:** Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution. A Master's degree in Nursing or a related field is preferred. - **Licensure:** MOL Evaluation - **Experience:** A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a surgical inpatient setting, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role. - **Certifications:** BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications are required.
