Planning Engineer

Job Description: The planning engineer serves a critical role in contributing to achieving the departmental objectives by identifying the production requirements and implementing a plan for the production activities including a timeline to accomplish the fabrication. Furthermore, ensuring that the other department adheres to the estimated timelines and activities and monitoring the budget and level of inventories regularly. Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Conduct a plan for the production activities including the timeline and cost to accomplish the fabrication of products on time.
2. Determine production requirements based on plant capacity and production specifications.
3. Support in developing the workflow and procedures inside the factory through conducting plans to schedule the activities.
4. Supervise the production procedures and the latest update in coordination with the production team ensuring that the product will be finalized on the due date.
5. Monitor the production progress to identify the delays compared with the approved timelines; moreover, modify the schedules if required.
6. Identify the production specifications and provide a strategic plan for improving and determining the budget and timelines.
7. Collaborate with other departments to determine the production requirements based on the plant capacity and production specifications.
8. Assist in preparing reports for all planning activities and analyze all results to recommend required improvements in performance.
9. Assist in measuring the risks in each project and provide further recommendations for reducing them and extending productivity.
10. Assist in developing the existing/new products in collaboration with the business development section through conducting market research and studying the competitors’ activities.
11. Follow up with the commercial department ensuring that the raw materials and products will be delivered on time.
12. Assist in monitoring all department budgets and tracking the level of inventories on a quarterly basis and assist team members to manage all production schedules.
13. Follow up with the other departments to meet common objectives ensuring that the job stakeholders commit to the approved plan and timeline.
14. Participate in all evaluation meetings on a weekly and monthly basis.
15. Train all subordinates of all planning teams in various systems.

1. Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent field is required.
2. Minimum experience of 2-3 years as a production planning engineer.
3. Previous experience in the wood industry is a must.
4. Excellent in time management with the ability to conduct a plan for production activities.
5. Outstanding project management and problem-solving skills.
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
7. Excellent interpersonal skills, and concise communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
8. Previous experience in conducting plans for the production line in alignment with the estimated timeframes.
9. Ability to conduct a timeline to accomplish and finalize the fabrication on deadline.
