Job Family: Facilities Management and Support Services Business Line: Facilities Management & Support Services Department: Facilities Closing Date: 31-Aug-2024 Job Purpose The Food Safety Coordinator is responsible for supporting the implementation and maintenance of food safety programs in IMI and assisting with the development of food safety policies and procedures, conducting inspections and audits, training employees, and ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and standards. Key Accountabilities Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's food safety program, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements. Contribute to the creation and updating of food safety policies, procedures, and protocols to minimize foodborne hazards, such as contamination, improper handling, and allergen cross-contact. Assist in conducting routine inspections and audits of food handling areas, equipment, and processes to identify potential issues and ensure adherence to food safety standards. Contribute to the maintenance of accurate records and documentation related to food safety activities, including inspections, corrective actions, and training records. Support the investigation of food safety incidents, customer complaints, and non-conformances to identify root causes and assist in implementing corrective actions. Collaborate with relevant departments to address identified issues and prevent recurrence. Assist in monitoring and tracking the progress of corrective actions, ensuring timely completion and effectiveness. Contribute to the documentation and reporting of food safety incidents and corrective actions. Assist in analyzing food safety data, trends, and metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and prevention. Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance food safety practices, processes, and systems. Assist in the development and implementation of crisis management plans and procedures to address food safety emergencies, recalls, or outbreaks. Collaborate with relevant internal and external stakeholders, such as public health agencies and legal counsel, to manage and mitigate food safety incidents. Support effective communication with customers, suppliers, and the public during food safety emergencies, ensuring transparency and appropriate actions are taken. Qualifications & Experience Education Diploma degree in Food safety, Microbiology, or equivalent. Professional Qualifications Certified Hospitality or Facility Professional, HACCP, GMP, and FSMA are highly desirable. Experience At least 6-9 years' experience and knowledge in food safety operations and services preferably in a related industry. Languages Very good command of English & Arabic Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities) Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels. Good analytical and problem-solving abilities. Attention to detail, with a commitment to accuracy and compliance. Ability to communicate with cross-functional teams.
