KEYRESPONSIBILITIES:Design Development: Collaborate witharchitects and other professionals to develop glazing concepts anddesigns that align with the project's vision, aestheticgoals, and performance requirements.MaterialSelection: Evaluate different types of glass, coatings, and framingsystems to determine the most suitable options based on factorssuch as thermal performance, structural integrity, safety, andbudget.Structural Analysis: Conduct structuralanalysis and calculations to ensure that the selected glazingsystems can withstand wind loads, seismic forces, and otherenvironmental factors while maintaining safety andstability.Technical Drawings: Prepare detailedtechnical drawings, specifications, and documentation for theglazing systems, including plans, elevations, sections, andfabrication details, using CADsoftware.Coordination: Coordinate withinternal teams, external consultants, suppliers, and contractorsthroughout the design, procurement, fabrication, and installationphases to ensure seamless execution of the glazingwork.Quality Assurance: Implement qualityassurance procedures to verify that the glazing materials andinstallations comply with industry standards, building codes, andproject specifications.Cost Estimation: Assistin cost estimation and budgeting for glazing-related activities,including material procurement, fabrication, installation, and anyrequired testing or inspections.ValueEngineering: Identify opportunities for value engineering tooptimize the performance, cost, and sustainability of the glazingsystems without compromising quality orsafety.Problem-Solving: Address technicalchallenges, resolve design conflicts, and provide innovativesolutions to issues that may arise during the design, fabrication,or installation of glazing systems.Researchand Development: Stay updated on industry trends, technologicaladvancements, and best practices related to glass facades andbuilding envelope systems, and incorporate new knowledge intoproject designs.KEYQUALIFICATIONS:Candidates MUST be immediatelyavailable and currently based in theUAEBachelor's degree in CivilEngineering, Architectural Engineering, Structural Engineering, ora related field. Master's degree or specialized training infacade engineering is a plus.Proven experience(typically 5+ years) in facade engineering, with a focus on glazingsystems for commercial, residential, or institutionalbuildings.Proficiency in CAD software (e.g.,AutoCAD, Revit) and structural analysis tools (e.g., ETABS,SAP2000).Strong understanding of buildingcodes, standards (e.g., ASTM, AAMA), and industry guidelinesrelated to glazing design, fabrication, andinstallation.Excellent communication,collaboration, and project managementskills.Attention to detail, critical thinkingability, and a proactive approach toproblem-solving.
