We are currently seeking to recruit Senior Lecturers/Lecturers for theSchoolof Foundation Studies and Mathematics .The successful candidates will be responsible for teaching AcademicEnglish modules across all programmes and providing additional English languageskill development support to our students.If you believe you meet the expectations and requirements of this role,please apply with your CV/professional profile for consideration for interviews .Note:Only applications submitted via the recruitment portal will beconsidered for these roles. By demonstrating theirleadership capabilities, skills, motivation, and productivity, they willsubsequently be considered for senior roles and responsibilities within theschool, including positions such as Dean, Associate Dean, Programme Leader,Module Leader, and Coordinator, among others. There are ample opportunities forgrowth within the institution for the right candidates.
The ideal candidate for this position will demonstrate the ability to :·Deliver a range of modules across therespective programme,·Develop teaching materials and assessments forthe modules they deliver across the programme. All lecturers are also expectedto make relevant contributions to the development of teaching materials andassessments for all modules across programmes to ensure that learningobjectives are met,·Revise and update existing modules in line withthe latest industry developments,·Collaborate with industry advisory boards toenhance the relevance and quality of the programme and modules,·Develop assessments for the programme modules,ensuring compliance with LJMU guidelines and policies, alignment with theassessment matrix, and adherence to verification and external moderationdeadlines,·Serve as a personal tutor for students acrossthe programme portfolio,·Act as an academic coach and mentor tostudents, being available and willing to discuss students' concerns and issues,their performance, and academic progression,·Teach and assess students across a range ofwritten and presentation skills, providing individual feedback on students'performances,·Participate in extracurricular activities tobuild teamwork and student engagement,·Supervise or co-supervise undergraduate andpostgraduate research projects within their field of expertise,·Comply with all LJMU academic regulations andOryx Universal College Quality Assurance processes related to the modules andprogrammes they deliver,·Contribute to the continuous development ofexisting programmes and the introduction of new programmes within their school,·Develop and deliver CPD and short courses toenhance the School of Foundation Studies and Mathematics' portfolio,·Engage in approved research to contribute toknowledge in strategic priority areas,·Prepare and deliver lectures and seminars,conduct tutorials, practical sessions, workshops, and student field excursionsat both undergraduate and postgraduate levels,·Attend departmental, school, and facultymeetings and serve on a number of committees,·Commit to structured and unstructuredcontinuous professional and personal development to enhance performance, careergrowth opportunities, and unlock potential,Proactively andon-demand participate in other corporate and academic activities to contributeto the college's strategy and growth plans .RequirementsWe expect you to demonstrate the following requirements:Apostgraduate degree (preferably a PhD or being in the process ofcompleting a PhD in relevant research fields, or a master's degree withrelevant industry experience),Excellentoral and written communication skills in English,Ambitionand motivation in the pursuit of academic research and excellence,Theability to inspire the best potential in every student through trust,quality of engagement, and a leadership approach to influence others,Expertisein the application and delivery of appropriate teaching techniques,pastoral care, mentoring students, assessments, and marking,Theability to work well independently and collaboratively with colleagues,enriching a highly valued corporate culture based on trust relationshipsand mutual respect,Excellentcommunication and interpersonal skills,Strongorganisational and time management skills,Keenattention to detail, the ability to prioritize tasks, and meet multipledeadlines,Aself-motivated, enthusiastic, and innovative mindset,Experienceand/or qualifications in teaching in a tertiary education environment,The ability to work well ina team and enrich the corporate culture of the wider organisationAdditional value will be regarded for:Experience in conducting high-quality academic researchand a track record of refereed research publications,Demonstrated ability to mentor and provide researchguidance to junior researchers,Experience in curriculum and subject materialdevelopment,Experience in developingand/or implementing processes and policies in a tertiary education environment.Selected candidates are expected to relocate to Qatar around May-July2024 .Annual Salary Package:BetweenGBP 65,000 - 90,000which includes Accommodation Allowance andTransportation Allowance .Private Medical Insurance is provided to all sponsored employees andtheir dependents, with other benefits (Salary is tax-free in Qatar). Candidatesdemonstrating a track record in leadership competencies and achievements canexpect to be considered for the higher spectrum of the scaleRapid growth opportunities are availablebased on thedemonstration of competencies, potential contribution to growth, andoutstanding performance. Additional allowances such as dependent children'sschool fee allowance will be considered for those candidates willing to move toQatar with families .We offer excellent remuneration packages to suitable candidates in linewith market conditions, and an additional incentive package linked toorganization-level KPIs can be negotiated.
