Application Deadline: 31 May 2024Scope:MiddleYears Programme (MYP)Reportingto:Head of Multilingualism, Arabic Language CoordinatorTofill this role effectively, the successful candidate will need to have adiverse range of qualities, competencies, and experience. The Arabic teachershould be an adaptable and inspiring educator, with the ability to deliver acoherent, integrated, broad, inquiry-based programme. They should be amotivated teacher and life-long learner who can communicate effectively withmultiple stakeholders. They should possess excellent interpersonal skills andbe capable of preparing students for international programmes by teaching thelanguage in a stimulating, immersive, and communicative manner. They should beable to provide professional expertise, high-quality teaching, and learning,make effective use of resources, and ensure improved standards of learning andachievement for all students.Requirements1. Qualifications and Experience. The school prefers candidates with:1.1A bachelor's degree in teaching Arabic as a foreign language, second/foreignlanguage teaching, or a related field1.2Experience in teaching Arabic language to non-native speakers in aninternational setting2. Knowledge and Skills. They should:2.1Be aligned with the ISL values of diversity, passion, identity, andunderstanding.2.2Possess excellent communication skills and be willing to adapt to the demandsof an international school. They should be able to communicate effectively inArabic and English2.3Have a high level of understanding of current research on how children learnand possess the ability to motivate students to perform at their best.2.4Through differentiated instruction, and by using a variety of styles, be ableto inspire mixed-culture and ability classes by creating challenging andengaging learning opportunities for all students.2.5Have a high level of awareness of current developments in Arabic language andbe able to participate fully in an expanding IB school and, in particular, helpto develop the team spirit within the Arabic/Multilingualism Department3. Responsibilities:3.1Implement the Multilingualism policy and strategic plans3.2Liaise with the MYP team and the curriculum leaders to ensure effectivedelivery of the curriculum to specified classes, including selecting resourcesand managing them efficiently in the classroom.3.3Participate in the design, development, implementation, and review of thelanguage acquisition programmes.3.4Promote the health and safety of assigned classes.3.5Participate in professional development and contribute to regular stafftraining/meetings.3.6Encourage team spirit in the Multilingualism department and develop connectionswith colleagues across the school.3.7Contribute to community service and global citizenship goals.3.8Contribute to the extra-curricular activities programme of the school.3.9Contribute to the development of a positive attitude between theMultilingualism Department and the wider community through cooperativerelations, publications, competitions, etc.3.10Enhance the professional standing of the faculty.3.11Participate in teacher-led initiatives and activities aimed at promotingMultilingualism at ISL-QatarBenefitsFully sponsored position:TAX free salary- based on salary scale refer tohttps://www.islqatar.org/making-the-right-choice-booklet- Fully furnished house- International Health Insurance excluding USA- Utilities allowance- Flight Allowance- Tuition fees- 1 child per hire- Shipping allowance- Settling allowance- Authentication of documents allowance
