About Our Client My client, a public sector organization is currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Director of Strategic Communications and PR. Job DescriptionDevelop and implement comprehensive strategic communication plans to support the company's objectives and enhance its reputation.Lead cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and execution of communication strategies across all channels and platforms.Conduct research and analysis to identify key communication opportunities and challenges, and develop insights-driven strategies accordingly.Serve as the primary point of contact for media relations, cultivating relationships with journalists and proactively pitching stories to secure positive coverage.Oversee the creation of compelling content for various communication channels, including press releases, articles, social media posts, and website content.Manage crisis communication strategies and responses, working closely with senior leadership to mitigate reputational risks.Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including executives, marketing, and human resources, to ensure consistent messaging and alignment of communication efforts. The Successful ApplicantBachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field; advanced degree preferred.7+ years of experience in strategic communications, public relations, or related field, with a proven track record of developing and implementing successful communication strategies.Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and coordinate cross-functional teams.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and persuasively.Demonstrated experience in media relations, including pitching stories and managing media inquiries.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
