Job Summary A Deputy Manager IT Security is responsible for managing and overseeing the organization's IT Security function. The Deputy Manager IT Security is also responsible for implementing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards, managing cybersecurity risks, conducting audits and assessments, and providing guidance and training to employees on cybersecurity best practices. Main Duties and Activities

  • Developing and implementing strategies to ensure that the organization's IT infrastructure and data are protected from cyber threats.
  • Conducting regular risk assessments to identify potential cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities within the organization includes identifying risks related to data privacy, data breaches, and other potential cyber-attacks.
  • Working closely with other members of the Department to develop incident response plans that outline the steps to be taken in the event of a cyber-attack or other IT-related incident.
  • Evaluating new cybersecurity technologies and implementing those that are deemed necessary for the organization's security.
  • Ensuring that the organization is compliant with relevant industry standards and regulations related to cybersecurity.
  • Monitoring and managing security incidents and ensuring that they are resolved in a timely and effective manner.
  • Overseeing the conduct of regular IT audits and assessments to identify any vulnerabilities in the organization's IT systems whilst developing plans to address these vulnerabilities and ensure that they are effectively resolved.
  • Implementing security policies and procedures to ensure that the organization's IT infrastructure and data are protected from cyber threats.
  • Managing cybersecurity projects including developing project plans, monitoring progress, and ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Developing and submitting budget proposals, monitoring expenditures, and ensuring that the department operates within its allocated budget.
  • Identifying potential IT risks and develop risk management strategies to mitigate these risks whilst ensuring that the organization is following relevant laws and regulations related to data privacy and security.
  • Collaborating with IT teams to ensure that security measures are implemented throughout the organization's IT infrastructure.
  • Providing security training and awareness programs to employees.
  • Communicating with other departments within the organization and coordinating with them on cybersecurity-related matters.
  • Conducting security audits and assessments to identify vulnerabilities in the organization's IT infrastructure and data. This includes vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, and other security assessments.
  • Setting performance goals and objectives, conducting performance evaluations, and providing feedback to help team members improve their performance.
  • Building and fostering a cohesive and collaborative team that works well together and have a sense of teamwork and encourage staff to share knowledge and expertise.
  • Allocating tasks appropriately, monitor progress, and provide support and resources as needed.
  • Conducting interviews and onboarding new team members, ensuring that they are properly trained and equipped to perform their job responsibilities.
  • Staying up to date with changes in regulations regarding cybersecurity and ensuring that the organization's policies and procedures are updated accordingly.
  • Reviewing reports and documentation related to the Cybersecurity including documenting security policies and procedures, preparing incident reports, and providing reports on the department's performance.
  • Developing policies related to password management, access control, and incident response.
Qualifications and Experience Required
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, IT engineering, or a related field is required for this role.
  • Certification: Professional certification is preferred
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in the related field, preferable within the industry in which the organization operations.
