About the job Commercial Manager - Customes Clearing & Last-Mile
We are leading the search for our client, a Tier 1 logistics industry solutions provider & are currently interviewing for an accomplished Commercial Manager – Customs Clearance & Last Mile. Key Responsibilities:- Develop new business opportunities and implement strategies for efficient customs clearance processes, ensuring compliance with local regulations and requirements.
- Liaise with government authorities and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth customs clearance operations.
- Oversee documentation processes, including preparation of import/export documents, customs declarations, and clearance permits.
- Monitor customs clearance timelines and resolve any issues or delays proactively.
- Lead and supervise the last-mile delivery team, including drivers and delivery personnel.
- Optimize last-mile delivery routes and schedules to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of shipments to customers, maintaining high standards of service quality.
- Implement tracking and monitoring systems to provide real-time visibility of delivery status to customers and stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities for business growth and expansion within the customs clearance and last-mile delivery segments.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders, understanding their needs and requirements.
- Collaborate with the group sales and marketing teams to develop customized solutions and proposals for prospective clients.
- Analyze key performance metrics related to customs clearance and last-mile delivery operations.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting performance trends, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and implement action plans to address any performance issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in customs clearance and last-mile delivery operations, preferably within the shipping and logistics industry in Kuwait.
- Strong knowledge of Kuwaiti customs regulations and procedures.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
- Proven track record in business development, client management, and negotiations.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Fluency in English and Arabic languages is required.
