Summary: Responsible for the design and fabrication of prosthodontics devices (dentures and partials), crown and bridges, Intra-Oral, Extra-Oral maxillofacial, maxillofacial prosthetic devices (orbital, eyes, ears, noses, digits etc.), in addition to obturators and surgical appliances. Ability to perform restoration building process, including but not limited to Computer Aided Design (CAD), Computer Aided Milling (CAM), Model + Die, Wax, Finish, Implants, Stain & Glaze, and all forms of Ceramic restoration techniques. Meets established standards. Supports and upholds goals and objectives of the Dental Laboratory, Dental Clinic and Hospital administration. Six (6) years of experience in Dental Laboratory, must be capable of fabricating all Dental Laboratory prosthesis with an expertise in at least 3 to 4 sections of the Dental Laboratory. Department Information Number of Clinics: 49 clinics in main hospital 2 clinics in Family Health Building 2 clinics in Children's Cancer Center The Department of Dental Clinic engages in clinical practice in a forty-nine operatory clinic in the out-patient wing of the main hospital and two satellite clinics. It is staffed by dentists (consultants, associate consultants, and general practice residents), dental hygienists, registered nurses, dental assistants, dental laboratory technicians, secretaries, and other support staff. Among the services provided are: general dentistry, specialty dentistry and hospital in-patient dentistry. Tertiary care services are available for patients who are medically compromised, have facial pain, require maxillofacial or comprehensive prosthetics, have facial deformities, or require out-patient general anesthesia (with the Department of Anesthesiology) for dental treatment. The department provides team members to the Hospital's Cleft Palate and Head & Neck Oncology Teams. Frequent procedures/services/functions The Dental Clinic consists of all dental specialties: General Practice Endodontics Orthodontics Pedodontics Periodontics Prosthodontics, including maxillofacial Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Dental Hygiene The following services and procedures are provided IV sedation procedures Maxillofacial surgeries including orthognathic and distraction cases Outpatient and Inpatient general anesthesia Osseo integrated implants Oral maxillofacial prosthetics Hours of operationSaturday thru Tuesday: 0730 - 1700 hours Wednesday: 0730 - 1600 hours Staff Dental Clinic Supervisor: 1 Senior Dental Assistant: 1 Dental Assistant Coordinator: 1 Dental Patient Coordinator: 1 Dental Assistant: 45 Dental Hygiene Clinician: 2 Dental Hygienist: 5 Assistant Head Nurse: 1 Staff Nurse I: 8 Dental X-ray Technician: 2 Ward Clerk: 6 Patient Care Assistant: 2 Hospital Assistant: 1 Interpreter: 2
