**Job Title: Special Educator/ Psychologists**
**Job Overview**:
A special educator is responsible for designing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities or special needs. They collaborate with other professionals, parents, and caregivers to create supportive learning environments and ensure that each student receives appropriate accommodations and modifications to access the curriculum. Special educators also assess students' progress, provide specialized instruction, and support their social and emotional development.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)**: Collaborate with the student's IEP team, including parents, administrators, and other professionals, to develop comprehensive plans tailored to the student's unique needs and goals.
- **Provide Specialized Instruction**: Design and deliver instruction that addresses the diverse learning needs of students with disabilities, using evidence-based strategies and accommodations to promote academic growth and skill development.
- **Assessment and Progress Monitoring**: Conduct ongoing assessments to evaluate students' academic, behavioral, and developmental progress, and adjust instruction and interventions accordingly. Use data to inform instructional decisions and modify goals as needed.
- **Collaboration and Communication**: Work closely with general education teachers, support staff, and related service providers to coordinate services, share information, and ensure that students' needs are met across all environments. Maintain open communication with parents and caregivers, providing regular updates on students' progress and addressing concerns as they arise.
- **Behavior Management and Support**: Implement positive behavior intervention strategies to promote appropriate behavior and social skills development. Provide support and guidance to students in managing emotions, resolving conflicts, and building self-regulation skills.
