Job Purpose The Technical Service Coordinator will contribute to the execution and profitability targets established by the MPY Business within the Europe, Middle East and Africa region. They will be required to be proactive and professional in delivering high quality technical support to internal and external customers. Key Accountabilities
- Deliver training to customers on the use and application of the company products, equipment and documentation both on-site at the customer’s location.
- Conduct demonstrations of products and transfer the knowledge on AkzoNobel processes as well as on technical problem solving to both internal and external customers.
- Perform product testing for customers as well as internal customers.
- Perform technical audits at designated customers and across the region.
- Proactively prevent and solve problems of a technical nature occurring at existing customers across the region.
- Conduct and/or assist in the testing process as well as in the implementation of new products and technologies.
- Synchronize with the technical department in handling complex technical issues and in educating customers on solutions.
- Help to support product development with prototype selection advice and test market execution. Maintain allocated technical company equipment in a safe and proper manner.
- Assist sales department in the implementation of sales strategies and within key phases of the sales process, giving technical expert knowledge to their prospects across the region.
- Promote the positive company image and develop long-term relations with customers.
- Support with PC05 and Lifetime statements.
- 10+ years technical and application experience in the epoxy PFP, paints and coatings industry.
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills.
- Hands-on epoxy PFP product application experience essential.
- Experience with maintenance and operation of epoxy PFP spray equipment essential.
- High school education and minimum NACE 1 level or equivalent.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills and ability to interface with customer and all levels within organizational structure.
- Part of the job role will involve traveling internationally and domestically to support EMEA business.
- Candidates must be able to use a laptop and be competent in Outlook and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Applicants should also have sufficient computer literacy to be able to use AkzoNobel in-house systems.
- Fluency in English is essential, any local languages are an advantage.
