Solar Project & Sales Engineer Solar project & Sales Engineer : Duties & Responsibilities Sales & Business Development

  • Identify and target potential clients in residential, commercial, or industrial sectors.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to meet or exceed sales targets.
Technical Support & Consultation
  • Analyze client energy needs and propose suitable solar energy solutions.
  • Conduct site assessments, including evaluating shading, roof orientation, and other factors that affect system performance.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations to clients, explaining system designs and performance expectations.
Proposal Development
  • Prepare detailed proposals, including cost estimates, calculations, and financial benefits of solar systems.
  • Collaborate with design and engineering teams to create customized solutions tailored to client needs.
Project Coordination
  • Act as a liaison between clients and project teams, ensuring smooth project execution.
  • Monitor project progress, troubleshoot technical issues, and provide updates to clients.
Market Research & Reporting
  • Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and government policies or incentives for solar energy.
  • Gather customer feedback to improve products, services, and processes.
  • Prepare sales forecasts, reports, and performance analyses for management.
Solar project & sales Engineer :Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Renewable Energy, or related field preferred).
  • Certification in solar energy systems or renewable energy technologies (e.g., NABCEP, PV Design) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of solar energy systems, PV design, and energy storage solutions.
  • Familiarity with design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, PVsyst, HelioScope).
  • Understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering principles related to solar systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical clients.
  • Experience with CRM software for managing client interactions and sales pipelines.
  • Understanding of local, state, or national policies and incentives for renewable energy.
  • Familiarity with grid-tied, off-grid, and hybrid solar systems.
  • 2–5 years of experience in solar energy sales, engineering, or related roles.
  • Proven track record in achieving sales targets in a technical field.
  • Valid driver’s license (for site visits and client meetings).
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
