As part of our ongoing growth and dedication to financial excellence, we are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Finance Manager to join our team. This role will play a crucial part in overseeing the financial health of both our new interior design and fit-out projects, as well as renovation initiatives, ensuring robust financial planning, control, and reporting across all stages. Job Summary : The Finance Manager will manage the financial operations of the company, ensuring sound financial planning, reporting, and control over all financial activities. This role requires someone with a strong background in construction or design-based industries and a deep understanding of project-based financial management, including budgeting, cost control, and financial analysis. Key Responsibilities : Financial Planning and Reporting:
- Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) in compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to management, providing insights on the financial health of the company.
- Work closely with the CFO/MD to develop and implement financial strategies that support the company’s business objectives, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Prepare detailed financial reports for different departments, especially project teams, to track performance and project profitability.
- Prepare, manage, and monitor project budgets, ensuring that costs are aligned with financial goals.
- Develop cost estimation models and track project expenses (materials, labor, subcontractors, etc.) to ensure budget adherence.
- Collaborate with the project management team to review and adjust budgets based on project scope changes or unforeseen issues.
- Ensure that proper financial controls are in place to prevent cost overruns and that all costs are justified and documented.
- Provide financial oversight for multiple design and fit-out projects, ensuring accurate cost tracking and reporting.
- Monitor project milestones, invoicing schedules, and payment collections to maintain a healthy cash flow.
- Liaise with project managers and department heads to ensure the financial performance of projects meets or exceeds expectations.
- Analyze project profitability and identify areas for improvement or cost-saving opportunities.
- Manage working capital, including overseeing accounts receivable, accounts payable, and cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity for operations.
- Prepare cash flow forecasts and assist in ensuring that the company has sufficient funds to meet day-to-day operating expenses.
- Ensure proper management of capital expenditures, ensuring purchases align with budgetary constraints.
- Oversee tax filings, ensuring compliance with local tax regulations (VAT, etc.) and managing any tax-related documentation.
- Coordinate with external auditors to ensure that all financial audits are conducted smoothly and in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Prepare any necessary documentation for regulatory bodies as required.
- Ensure the company’s financial systems and processes are efficient, accurate, and aligned with industry best practices.
- Continuously assess and implement improvements in financial systems, tools, and reporting mechanisms.
- Stay current with financial technology and software relevant to the construction, design, and fit-out industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance; professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or CA are highly desirable.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a financial management role within the construction, design, fit-out, or joinery industry.
- Proven experience in managing project-based finances, cost control, and budgeting.
- Strong understanding of construction and interior design project life cycles, including cost estimation, invoicing, and profitability analysis.
- Knowledge of relevant accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and ERP systems.
- In-depth understanding of tax regulations, VAT, and compliance in the construction industry.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with project managers, department heads, and senior management.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle sensitive financial information with integrity.
- Knowledge of financial regulations and accounting standards relevant to the construction and design industries.
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to inspire and guide teams to success.
- Knowledge of financial reporting in the GCC (if applicable) or other specific regional markets.
- Passion for the interior design and construction industry, with an understanding of the unique financial needs of this sector.
- Construction or interior design company: 5 years (Required)
- ACCA or CA (Required)
