Job Description

Job Summary : The General Manager (GM) will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company's operations, including sales, production, finance, marketing, and strategic growth. The GM will lead the organization in delivering high-quality products and services to the construction industry, ensuring operational efficiency, profitability, and sustainable growth. The role requires a strategic leader with a strong background in the construction chemicals sector and the ability to drive performance while fostering a culture of innovation, safety, and collaboration. Key Responsibilities : Leadership & Strategy :
  • Develop and execute the company's business strategies in alignment with corporate goals.
  • Lead and manage all departments, including Sales, Production, Operations, R&D, Marketing, and Finance, ensuring smooth integration across functions.
  • Provide strategic direction to expand market share, improve brand visibility, and enhance product offerings in the construction chemicals market.
  • Establish short and long-term organizational goals and KPIs.
Operations Management :
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the company, ensuring all functions are working efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Ensure the production of high-quality construction chemicals, meeting safety, environmental, and industry standards.
  • Monitor supply chain, production capacity, and inventory management to ensure timely product delivery and optimal resource utilization.
  • Implement lean manufacturing practices and process improvements to reduce costs and increase operational efficiency.
Sales & Business Development :
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to drive revenue growth and increase market penetration in the construction chemical industry.
  • Identify new business opportunities, market trends, and customer needs to expand the company's customer base.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, contractors, distributors, and suppliers.
  • Ensure the development of innovative solutions to meet client demands, and explore partnerships and alliances to strengthen market position.
Financial Management :
  • Develop and manage the company’s budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility and meeting financial targets.
  • Oversee the financial health of the company by monitoring cash flow, profitability, and cost management.
  • Provide financial reports and analysis to the Board of Directors or CEO, identifying areas of opportunity or concern.
  • Implement and manage pricing strategies to ensure competitiveness while maintaining profitability.
Research and Development (R&D) :
  • Guide and support R&D teams in developing innovative and high-performance construction chemical products.
  • Ensure that the company’s product offerings stay ahead of industry trends and meet evolving customer needs.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and technological innovation.
Compliance & Risk Management :
  • Ensure that all operations comply with local and international regulations, including safety, environmental, and industry standards.
  • Monitor industry regulations and standards to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies to address potential operational, financial, or market risks.
Team Management & Development :
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of managers and employees across all departments.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting company values such as integrity, innovation, and sustainability.
  • Oversee recruitment, training, and employee development to ensure the company attracts and retains top talent.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching to drive employee success.
Customer Service & Quality Assurance :
  • Ensure that customer service teams deliver high-quality support, resolving issues and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee quality control measures to ensure all products meet or exceed customer expectations and industry standards.
  • Lead initiatives to address customer feedback and improve product/service quality.

Job Requirements

Qualifications :
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or MBA is a plus.
  • 10+ years of experience in the construction chemicals or related industries, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role (e.g., GM, Director, or VP).
  • Strong understanding of the construction chemicals market, products, and customer needs.
  • Proven experience in managing cross-functional teams and leading company-wide initiatives.
  • Excellent financial and budget management skills, with experience in driving profitability.
  • Knowledge of relevant local and international regulations and industry standards.
  • Strong strategic thinking, business acumen, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and deliver results under pressure.
Additional Skills (desirable):
  • Experience with SAP or other ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of international construction standards and specifications.
  • Multilingual proficiency (English + local language) is a plus.
