About KALD: The Kuwaiti Association for Learning Differences (KALD) is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting individuals with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Learning Disabilities (LD), particularly students in private and special education schools in Kuwait. We achieve this through awareness programs, training courses, and other educational initiatives. KALD's mission is to become a leading institution in enhancing the educational services available to students with ADHD and LD within the Kuwaiti education system. About the Role: KALD is thrilled to announce the establishment of a new diagnostic unit to provide comprehensive support to children and adults. We are seeking highly motivated and experienced Learning & Behavioral Specialist to join our dynamic team as we build this crucial service. Key Responsibilities:
- Play a key role in the foundational development of the diagnostic unit.
- Conduct comprehensive psychological and educational assessments, including administering and interpreting standardized tests (e.g., intelligence tests, achievement tests, personality assessments).
- Diagnose learning disabilities, developmental delays, and other related conditions.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with teachers, parents, and other relevant professionals.
- Provide counseling and support services to students with learning difficulties.
- Conduct psycho-educational evaluations for students with special needs.
- Maintain accurate and confidential student records.
- Participate in professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the best possible outcomes for students.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of unit policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Preferred: Master's degree in Special Education, School Psychology, Counseling Psychology from an accredited university.
- Required: Bachelor's degree in Educational Psychology or a related field from an accredited university.
- Required: Minimum of two years of relevant professional experience as an Educational Psychologist.
- Preferred: Licensure/Certifications in Educational Psychology.
- Strong knowledge of child development, learning theories, and assessment procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and report-writing skills (both written and verbal).
- Proficiency in using assessment tools, software, and technology.
- Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and within a fast-paced environment.
- Strong ethical and professional conduct.
- Required: Fluency in Arabic.
- Preferred: Experience in program development.
