Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer

Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer American International University – Kuwait American International University (AIU) is seeking a Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement, and maintain a robust and secure network infrastructure. This position requires advanced expertise in routing, switching, and passive network infrastructure, as well as experience managing low-voltage systems (CCTV, PA, Digital Signage) and Cisco IP Telephony. The ideal candidate will excel in network monitoring, performance optimization, and troubleshooting, ensuring seamless connectivity and operational efficiency. Responsibilities :

1. Design, implement, and manage a scalable and secure network infrastructure, including core, edge, wireless, and internet systems.
2. Administer network resources, policies, and VPN services to ensure optimal functionality.
3. Provide support for physical and virtual servers, both on-premises and cloud-based.
4. Oversee and maintain low-voltage systems, including door access, CCTV, public address (PA) systems, fingerprint readers, and digital signage.
5. Configure and manage Cisco IP Telephony solutions.
6. Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues to maintain high availability and reliability.
7. Collaborate with vendors and service providers to optimize infrastructure solutions.
8. Develop and deliver training sessions for IT staff and orientation programs for new hires.
9. Maintain comprehensive documentation for network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
10. Prepare orientation guides, deliver presentations, and actively participate in IT department meetings.

Requirements :

1. Proven experience as a network engineer or administrator with expertise in routing, switching, and passive infrastructure.
2. Strong knowledge of low-voltage systems, including CCTV, PA systems, and digital signage.
3. Proficiency in Cisco IP Telephony and network management best practices.
4. Hands-on experience with firewalls, VPNs, and network troubleshooting tools.
5. Minimum Cisco CCNP certification required.
6. Familiarity with Microsoft Server 2012+ and network management tools (e.g., Cisco Prime, Wireshark).
7. Exceptional organizational, prioritization, and multitasking skills.
8. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
