Quality Assistant Manager Dammam, Saudi Arabia Job Description Responsibilities

  1. Facilitate and supervise on-line plant quality performance including interaction and guidance to the team of chemists and lab technicians.
  2. Ensure updated standards and methods are followed as per AMENA Quality, R&D specifications, and government requirements.
  3. Identify non-conforming products using Hold & Release protocol to prevent dispatch.
  4. Lead implementation and sustaining of PI food safety standards across the plant and conduct monthly food safety audits.
  5. Coordinate with different departments to address food safety issues in a timely manner.
  6. Lead the investigation of consumer and customer complaints, identifying root causes and ensuring corrective actions are taken and reported back within specified time frames.
  7. Meet EHS KPIs such as Near miss and chemical management standards.
  8. Conduct annual audits such as Global QAS and ASHA, addressing findings through a structured action plan.
  9. Ensure hygiene and food safety standards are met during regulatory inspections.
  10. Develop and execute a Quality & Food Safety training plan for the entire plant population and contract labor.
  11. Ensure all analytical instruments are operational, tidy, and calibrated as per schedule while meeting 5S requirements.
  12. Manage third-party pest control contracts to ensure the facility is free of pest activities.
  13. Interact with relevant functions for quality issue resolution.
  14. Support and monitor implementation of Safety, Food Safety, and IPS programs.
  15. Conduct annual audits using QSHA and ASHA audit forms and conduct action plan meetings for observed gaps.
  16. Have the authority to hold non-conforming products and stop production lines in the event of specification violations.
  17. Engage with peers and the plant leadership team to agree on action plans for addressing related issues.
  18. Manage day-to-day activities and staff working schedules.
  19. Prepare and issue periodic reports (Key Process Indicators) relevant to quality, including people performance and scheduling.
  20. Address needs of the Lab and staff timely, including training, PPE, chemicals, office supplies, and uniforms.
  21. Conduct required shift-wise line inspections and take immediate actions to correct non-compliance to standards.
  22. Implement, sustain, and participate in the continual improvement of the EHS Management System at the area of responsibility.
Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Science (Chemistry, Microbiology, or Food Science).
  2. Knowledge of ISO22000 / HACCP.
  3. Excellent command of written and spoken English.
  4. Good computer skills with knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  5. Strong soft skills, presentation skills, and effective communication skills to engage cross-functional peers.
  6. Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in a supervisory position in a food manufacturing company.
