Marketing Manager - Awards and Conferences (Africa Cluster)

DMGT manages a diverse, multinational portfolio of companies with total revenues of 2bn, providing businesses and consumers with compelling information, analysis, insight, events, news and entertainment. Job Purpose & Context: To design and deliver successful marketing campaigns for conferences, awards and digital products in line with agreed KPIs. Key Responsibilities:- Create and implement an integrated marketing strategy, including delegate acquisition, table sales and sponsorship for all the awards and conferences under the Africa construction portfolio.
- Conduct thorough market research to understand industry trends, audience needs and competitor activities, using these insights to refine the marketing strategy.
- Develop and maintain a content calendar to ensure timely and high-quality content delivery for email marketing, social media, digital marketing campaigns and other channels.
- Plan, execute and manage targeted email and digital marketing campaigns across various platforms, including paid advertising.
- Manage budgets by allocating funds, monitoring expenses and ensuring campaigns remain within budget.
- Lead the creation of compelling content across various channels, including promotional materials, brochures, social media posts and website updates.
- Work closely with the production team to create attractive sponsorship opportunities and ensure marketing efforts are aligned with event themes, content and objectives.
- Ensure websites are up to date with the latest information, including agendas, speakers and awards details.
- Responsible for generating leads to support the team in driving table sales and delegate acquisition.
- Set up and manage delegate registration portals, ensuring a seamless registration process. Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues and implement necessary improvements to enhance the user experience.
- Track delegate acquisition and provide regular reports on registration numbers, conversion rates and other key performance indicators.
- Monitor, analyze and report campaign performance and use the insights to continuously optimize future marketing activities.
- Work closely with internal teams, including event operations to ensure smooth execution of projects and the data team to ensure data governance and data management policies are adhered to.
- Minimum 3-5 years experience in marketing awards and conferences.
- Demonstrable experience in marketing, along with the potential and attitude required to learn.
- Ability and willingness to travel for business and events.
- Experience with the following tools is a plus: Emarsys, PowerBI, Salesforce, Google Analytics and social media business manager suites.
- Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in 360-degree marketing and measurement.
- A good eye for design and the ability to write compelling content.
- Bachelor's/master's degree in marketing or a related field.
