Key Responsibilities of the Spa & Recreation Receptionist:
- TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Providing prompt, efficient, and courteous service in Viking Club.
- Reports directly to and communicates with the Administrative Assistant regarding all pertinent matters affecting the daily operation.
- Greet guests according to standards stipulated under current Policy & Procedure, ensuring a warm, friendly welcome to members and guests.
- Explain clearly the information about Viking Club's facilities and other information such as membership details.
- Handle members' and guests' complaints courteously and, if unable to resolve, refer to Supervisor/Manager immediately.
- Complete daily opening procedures and checking lists per relevant area.
- In charge of billing procedures (daily entry fees, classes, and lockers).
- Responsible for doing daily end reports and reconciliation.
- Follow up on store requisitions and purchase requests as requested by the Admin Assistant.
- Handle telephone and courtesy manners as per company policy.
SECURITY, HEALTH AND SAFETY
- Be fully conversant with the hotel's credit policy.
- Inform Executive Housekeeper regarding lost and found objects.
- Liaise with Security in the investigation of thefts, accidents, and irregularities.
- Ensure that all potential and real hazards are reported and removed immediately.
- Fully understand the hotel's fire, emergency, and bomb procedures.
- Ensure that emergency procedures are enforced to provide for the security and safety of guests and employees.
- Support a safe hotel by applying hotel regulations and adhering to existing laws and regulations.
- Anticipate possible and probable hazards and conditions and take action to prevent them from happening.
MISCELLANEOUS
- Show involvement and be interested in environmental and/or social issues by participating in Responsible Business hotel and departmental activities.
- Attend meetings and training required by the Director of Recreation.
- Accept a flexible work schedule necessary for uninterrupted service to hotel guests.
- Continuously seek to improve the Viking Club's efficient operation and knowledge of one's job function.
- Stay updated on:
- Hotel fire, bomb, and emergency procedures.
- Hotel health and safety policies and procedures.
- Hotel facilities and nearby sights of interest and importance (i.e., hospitals, stations, tourist sights).
- Short and long-term hotel as well as corporate marketing and promotional programs.
- Corporate clients and clients generating high business volume.
- Union agreements.
CONSTRAINTS:
- Not allowed to sign purchase requests.
- Not allowed to approve discounts or complimentary checks.
- Not allowed to sign doctor permissions.
- Not allowed to approve sick leave or days off for employees.
- Not allowed to bring out any hotel equipment or manuals.
