Senior level experience in the installation, maintenance, repair, alignments, testing, and troubleshooting of CATV broadcast receive equipment as specified in the task order. This position is contingent upon successful contract award to V2X. Responsibilities Major Job Activities:
- Supply, install, operate, and maintain CATV systems and equipment, including the Government satellite cable network and FM Armed Forces Radio and Television Service radio broadcasts and support the day-to-day technical operations of the CATV infrastructure.
- Install, repair, and maintain CATV equipment and subsystem equipment, existing RG-6, RG-11, RG-59 cable, interfacility fiber cable, junction boxes, and interface equipment.
- Install inside cable plant coaxial cable to support expansion of the system, including support to identify defective cable, replace, and bury CATV cabling.
- Support Commanders Access Channel, Force Protection Channel, and Morale Channel.
- Working environment is a climate-controlled facility. Outdoor temperatures may exceed temperatures of 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
- May require support during periods of non-traditional working hours including nights or weekends.
- High School diploma or GED.
- U.S. Citizen.
- Active Secret Tier 3 (or higher) Security Clearance.
- Lead-level practical experience with installations, repair, and troubleshooting or maintenance of communications systems or equipment; solving complex problems, understanding the interrelationships of circuits, and the ability to exercise independent judgment in performing tasks in support of communications systems or equipment; AND
- Expert in CATV equipment: downlink antennas; LNBs; decoders; modulators; signal monitors; fiber optic distribution equipment; video ticker system; Phase Alternating Line (PAL) encoding system.
