Job Description

Job Summary: The Front Desk Agent is responsible for greeting, checking guests in, and checking guests out of the hotel in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. The main focus is to engage every guest in conversation and recognition, as well as resolve any guest issues immediately. Key Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure brand standards, policies, and procedures are adhered to at all times.
  2. Greet and welcome all guests approaching the front desk.
  3. Perform all front office duties like check-in and check-out of guests, answering the phone according to hotel etiquette, assisting guests with their inquiries, taking reservations, and performing administrative tasks.
  4. Maintain complete knowledge of all hotel features/services, hours of operations, restaurant food concepts, menu price range, dress code and ambiance, room types, amenities, locations, rates, special packages, promotions, daily house count, expected arrivals/departures, scheduled daily group activities, and room availability status.
  5. Be familiar with all front office software required for the position.
  6. Ensure that all hotel standards are met when assisting guests and handling information.
  7. Answer guest inquiries about hotel services, facilities, and hours of operation in a timely manner.
  8. Review front office logs, trace files, and credit limits daily.
  9. Answer inquiries from guests regarding restaurants, transportation, entertainment, etc.
  10. Be familiar with all in-house groups.
  11. Be aware of closed out and restricted dates.
  12. Coordinate with the front office supervisor in performing daily tasks or during the shift.
  13. Be familiar with hospitality terminology.
  14. Have knowledge of emergency procedures and assistance as needed.
  15. Always use proper etiquette when communicating with guests and associates.
  16. Perform and complete all tasks and duties on the shift checklist in a timely and efficient manner.
  17. Maintain and market promotions and guest programs.
  18. Perform any other tasks as assigned by the supervisor and/or management.

Desired Skill & Expertise

  1. At least 1+ years experience working at the reception in an upscale property with 250+ inventory.
  2. 1 year experience in Front Office computer literacy.
  3. Excellent communication skills with proficiency in speaking and writing English.
  4. Team player with excellent planning, organizing, and problem-solving skills.
  5. Able to work flexible hours with rotating shifts.
  6. Pleasant personality and good grooming.
