Senior Project Engineer, Power & Infra Projects

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Provide day-to-day support to the Project Manager in various Project Management activities. Liaise with the main contractor and end-user PMT personnel and act as a focal point for Project Management issues.
  2. Identify and resolve technical issues, coordinate with engineering consultants, and establish communication between the Project team, external suppliers, subcontractors, and client/end-user personnel.
  3. Manage and coordinate project daily activities.
Day-to-day Responsibilities:
  1. Assist in the preparation, updating, and implementation of the Project Execution Plan (PEP).
  2. Attend weekly, monthly, and other progress review meetings (internal and with the client) and assist in the preparation of Minutes of Meeting. Follow up on MOM and incorporate agreed comments with the client to close out ongoing concerns raised during the review meetings.
  3. Coordinate to provide support to subcontractors in technical and contractual issues by facilitating face-to-face meetings to resolve key issues.
  4. Ensure project execution as per schedule and in accordance with contractual terms and client technical procedures.
  5. Coordinate with the project management team and team leaders for planning, scheduling, and execution of work for Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning to meet overall project objectives.
  6. Coordinate with engineering consultants to ensure that the design basis is clearly communicated within the teams and that relevant MR's are timely issued to the Procurement Department. Resolve key issues between Engineering and Procurement for timely issuance of Purchase Orders for long lead and critical purchases for the project.
  7. Provide support to the Project Manager in the implementation of project procedures and gather a list of deliverables.
  8. Participate in the preparation of high-level scope of work for Subcontracts and ensure that there is no scope creep.
  9. Ensure that technical, schedule, risk, commercial, and other evaluations of the project are performed with the participation of qualified personnel during sessions (internal and external, if required), that all resulting actions are pursued and resolved, and documents are updated.
  10. Explore and develop new tools and management techniques for successful project delivery.
  11. Ensure project mobilizations and resource requirements are in accordance with project mobilization requirements.
  12. Ensure team members have a clear understanding of the overall strategy and ongoing priorities of the project.
  13. Support project teams in variation claims, EOT, and preparation of the contractual position.
  14. Support Project Contracts, Cost & Subcontracts Team in evaluating and identifying any design deviations/variations arising from subcontractors.
  15. Coordinate with engineering consultants and provide support to project construction for timely issuance of IFC drawings for the start of construction activities and facilitate the resolution of key engineering issues raised by construction.
  16. Identify restraints for construction and facilitate the construction team in closing out obstacles in the execution of works.
  17. Coordinate with Procurement to identify and ensure timely delivery of materials at the site and facilitate the resolution of any obstacles and key issues between suppliers, clients, engineering consultants, and procurement.
  18. Ensure project milestones are on track and coordinate with Project Control to identify potential problems that may delay achieving project milestones.
  19. Provide support to commissioning for the timely start of commissioning activities and facilitate the resolution of key issues for a smooth start-up of commissioning activities.
Desired Candidate Profile: Qualifications:
  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Instrumentation) with a minimum of 12 years of experience. Familiarity with engineering, procurement, and contracting aspects in the business of power and infrastructure projects.
