Roles and Responsibilities

The Project Engineer is a key role directly reporting to the Senior Project Manager of Fire Protection systems for the Middle East region. You will be based in Abu Dhabi and will be a part of a growing team that is responsible for the execution of Fire Protection System projects within the Oil & Gas sector in the Middle East region. You will:
  1. Prepare schedules, coordinate and monitor the assigned engineering projects.
  2. Review compliance with NFPA codes & UAE life safety code, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards, and project specifications.
  3. Interact daily with clients to interpret their needs and requirements and represent them in the field.
  4. Work within a vibrant environment that provides a platform for you to use your experience to support the team with the pre-sales/estimation.

How You Will Do It

As an experienced Project Engineer, you will have expertise in project executions and complex knowledge of project designing of firefighting solutions including:
  1. Fire Protection (water-based systems)
  2. Gas Suppression
  3. Foam
  4. Alarm Detection Systems
Within the Oil & Gas Sector in the Middle East region, you will:
  1. Develop project objectives by reviewing project proposals, plans, completing technical studies like specifications, datasheets, Operation Philosophies, C&E matrix, Procedures, etc., cost estimation, and conferring with management.
  2. Determine project specifications by studying project design, customer requirements, and performance standards.
  3. Manage project schedule by studying project plan and specifications, calculating time requirements, and sequencing project elements.
  4. Maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems.
  5. Prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing, summarizing information and trends, and recommending actions.
  6. Manage the project execution i.e., design, procurement, and installation activities within budget, agreed schedule, and exceeding customer expectations.

Required

What we look for:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering
  2. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in project execution of Major projects for Fire Fighting Systems in the Oil & Gas sector within GCC countries.
  3. Strong technical knowledge of Fire Protection (water-based systems), Gas Suppression, Foam, special hazard protection, and Alarm Detection systems.
  4. Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
  5. Knowledge of project cost management, revenue generation, and invoicing to customers.
  6. Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking.
  7. Material Ordering and Vendor management.
  8. Responsible for production and issuance of technical documents, drawings, and calculations for manufacturing.
  9. Must have work experience in UAE/Oman/Kuwait/Qatar within the Oil & Gas sector.
  10. Proven track record in cost estimation during the design and development process, recommending cost-effective solutions, and ability to produce high-quality and impactful professional documents for clients and internal use.
  11. Fluency in the English language is essential.
  12. Driving License with ability to travel.

Desired Candidate Profile
